Can anyone suggest anything I can download onto my iphone that can use to learn poker? I will be driving, so it can only be audio, no video.
what type and limit?Quote: AvincowOn casino trips I'm usually doing a bit a driving. I think this is an excellent time to practice my poker (right now I only really know the power ratings of starting hands).

Anything really. Hold Em 4-8 limit and Hold Em 1-2 NL are the ones I've been playing. Those are preferred since they are in every casino pretty much.
It's gonna be tough to try to study that way, IMO.
Are not even close.Quote: AvincowAnything really. Hold Em 4-8 limit and Hold Em 1-2 NL
Learning logic and theory goes a long way.
Quote: Boney526I'm not sure how you'd do this both effectively and safely. I can't think of training videos that don't require you to watch them to understand them fully, but they may exist.... I generally get free training from Dragthebar through my affiliate, but there are only videos, but they don't have straight up audio training, and I've never paid for other sites' training.

How is dragthebar? I've never used it but the founder was a fraternity brother in college...
p.s. I don't see any difference from learning a language, listening to an audio book, or listening to poker instructions in the car. I would also do this.

TBH a lot of the advice given in strategy videos are behind my knowledge base so I don't use it too often, but I have learned a bit about games I'm not as familiar with, and I'd imagine if I studied more on the site I'd discover more. I'd imagine that other sites may be better, but it's hard to complain about a site that I get free membership at for just raking 100 dollars a month., and I get 27% rakeback.
That's good since he will be driving.Quote: DJTeddyBearstreet by street.

Been watching a bit more since posting this, there is some more recent stuff with strategic analysis that I wouldn't have thought of, but I don't think all of ot is correct. It's always good to be thinking though, especially about what types of things you haven't thought of as much. I wish there was more recent PLO strategy, but otherwise it's OK. I wouldn't go out of my way to pay for it, FWIW, and I play professionally (no other source of income, that is.)
I Dislike when they break down and analyze the hand any why and what after the fact. I'm always thinking, "really you were thinking about all that?" Half of what they are saying is after thought.Quote: Boney526Been watching a bit more since posting this, there is some more recent stuff with strategic analysis that I wouldn't have thought of, but I don't think all of ot is correct. Probably to slow and boring for TV, but I would like to see a show, 3 handed, with pros who step away and and discuss what they are going to do and why.
