Ok, playing a cash game today. Now let me first start with that yes i know the goal in playing is to win money.... however i do want to enjoy my game....

So today new table opens 8 handed... apparently there was 2 players who were in a big tournament together and had some issues because they kept a 1/2 nlh game at 15 to 20 preflop bets and kept raising each other pretty much driving ,ost people out of the game preflop.

is this something that could/should be brought to the floor or is it a situation that i just get up and walk away.

now i can deal with the player who constantly preflops a 10 bet.. its consistant.. you know he does it.. he wants the money in the pot... and clearly i really think those players what the 20 in the pot for bad beat purposes... so its simple wait for the right hand strike and collect and wait again...

however these two characters just had ego problems and took the fun out of the game...

What would the floor do? They're free to bet however they wish to bet and the other players are free to leave if they don't like the game.

Really, this is an ideal game, especially if your position is such that many people are folding to these guys in front of you, decent starting cards become good, good starting cards become great and great starting cards become powerhouses.

Mission is right. Not only is there nothing you can do, there is nothing you want to do either - except play only premium hands and take down the dead money!

Play tight, wait for the golden oppurtunity to cash in.
I actually love it when tournament players play tournament strategy in a cash game.
They typically are aggressive and raise with crap hands. In a tournament, they see alot of folds.
In a cash game, tournament life not on the line. They are not use to people calling their crap hands.
I've seen smart players in a cash game call tournament players huge raises with just a pair.
Gutsy call and tournament players in a cash game get all bent out of shape because somebody called their huge raise with a pair and they have crap.
lol
When somebody doesn't believe me, I could care less. Some get totally bent out of shape when not believed. Weird. I believe very little on all forums

I disagree with ONLY using that strategy. I think you could lower your range (depending on who else enters the pot) Assuming no tight players call or raise. Your lesser valuable hands ( like k 10) rate to be better than their hands.

If they are battling each other, they might ignore you when you get a monster hand (you got the nuts and they are betting it for you, now you suddenly pop it up at the end, they might feel pot committed).

A less powerful hand might be good more often than not, with nice sized pots.

I might even show these guys a bluff or a few cheap bad hands, if I could, just incase they do notice you only play premium hands. At least get them thinking you might be bluffing or possibly have junk.

Obviously your fluctuations will be higher than normal with some draw outs and surprise hands.

True, problem is patience is the key to get those premium hands...after an hour and half a pay i only came 6 dollars ahead... well 4 behind if you count the 10 i plugged in the slot machine waiting to play....

today was different though... 45 minutes of play came up 315 ahead... people just didnt believe me today.. i like that...

I agree with you. Something similar happened to me on the last vacation I went on there were these two guys just giving money away. I took some money from them at first but they just kept following me around trying to give me more of their money. Should I report these guys to the police?
