If you have played poker for any period, you have a pretty good understanding
of what bet size fits the situation for yourself and others. Very good players change
change their patterns and style from time to time so you cant peg everything, but
an average guy hardly ever thinks of that.

Last night was a case in point. It was at the very end of my session, i was up 50%
of my buy in and ready to head home. The very last hand i had hit two small pair with
only 1 over on the table. The turn and river had come 9,9 . the last guy to act had stayed
in a low betting hand, because of the two nines the two guys ahead of me checked as
did I, happy to get out of the game with a 50% win.

Howver the last guy, some one i had not seen play before raised the hand to almost as much
as i was ahead.... far bigger bet that was needed to win the hand. I was going to fold, take
my winners and head home, but this was just to big a bet. If he had hit the third nine he
would have bet much less hoping for a call from one of us....

i risked my gain and called, and he had a ace, queen......

opps to large a bet cost him some money and helped me go home 100% ahead for the night
