Ok, then, I misunderstood what you wrote.

The only pots I don't tip on are:
-Chops unless I profit more than about 10 dollars after rake.
-Ones where I am the only raiser and there are no callers (so all I win are blinds and people who called the blinds). Although I will tip when a profit of about 8 or more.
It depends on the game I'm playing, but I generally tip something like the following:
-Chops unless I profit more than about 10 dollars after rake.

It depends on the game I'm playing, but I generally tip something like the following:
Pot size | Tip |
---|---|
<10 | 50 cent piece (if those are in play) |
10-40 | $1 |
41-70 | $2 |
>71 | $3 |

You need to tip some and be a nice guy in general. This is because the dealers and particularly the floor people can just murder you in situations. If there is ever an issue in dispute, and it WILL happen, you don't want those people against you because their word is law. You don't have to tip a lot, but be nice and personable since that's free.
10 eyes for an eye. 10 teeth for a tooth. 10 bucks for a buck?! Hit the bad guys where it hurts the most: the face and the wallet.
