One benefit of this site for me is to let you preview new pages. I always appreciate any feedback, especially corrections.
That said, here is a preview of Ask the Wizard column 274. A lot of these topics were recently discussed here, or are still being discussed. If you have a general comment about a question raised, please follow the link in the column and make it in the forum. This is more a venue to comment on specific wording, errors, or suggestions for improvement.
Thanks.

I am happy to see one question-and-answer as you must know [g] The additional question of "how fast was he going when he landed" could also be asked and answered. 24.5 mph seems to be correct.

Wiz,
Nothing major, added a word and a grammatical nit....added "or apex" and the comma after apex. If you don't want to use the word apex, then that's fine, but the comma still belongs-I think.
"A way to visualize that is if you throw a ball straight up in the air at the exact moment it reaches its highest point or apex, it is just hanging there, velocity and gravity exactly canceling each other out."

Looks good. I also disagree with Al and feel that the Hacienda game merits praise. It is not open at peak hours only, unless you consider 8 A.M. on a Saturday peak, and they never sweated my action (green chip) or that of another guy at my table who was betting more (to be fair, he wasn't winning, and was tipping generously).
I'll take them over the Peppermills any day. To have to put up with all that purple neon ... ugh.

Looks good Wizard, but I still have an uneasy feeling about the Texas tragedy question getting posted on the "public" site, even with your clear explanation. It resulted in a lot of back and forth on the forum, and I still think the topic is a sensitive point with some.
The only suggestion for improvement would be to include links to the Hacienda (WOV review, or their website) in the first question, and to your "full basic strategy" in the last.

Thanks for the comments thus far.
About the falling man question, you can see I put a disclaimer there. I still think that those who are offended are too sensitive and am inclined to leave that as it is.
I'm more torn about the point about mentioning Al's objections to making Hacienda #1. Either I'll remove his remarks completely or tone them down. That game was open the last time I was there, which was in the morning, but I don't recall the day of the week. I might add that TeddyS said great things about the game in his review, which I still need for format and upload.

I disagree. It would be the same as saying my truck goes 65 miles per hour per hour. Excessive and repeatative. The second per hour is understood and not needed. Much like ATM machine or PIN number.

no, the only other way to correctly express it is '32.2 feet per second^2', or '32.2 per second squared'. 'Per second' is wrong.
PS: if you were right, then after 2 seconds an object is going 64.4 feet per second. But it is instead 128.8 ft per sec, in other words it is not linear. I think I got that right.

You, and the Wiz, are right and I stand corrected. Please forgive me as I have never seem ft/s2 written that way. I should stick to things I know about.

The way to look at that is that velocity (speed) is measured as distance over time: miles per hour, feet per second, etc. Acceleration is the rate of change in velocity. That means you measure it as velocity over time: (miles per hour) per hour, etc. If you step on the gas and your speed is 10mph one second, then 20mph the next second, then 30mph the 3rd second, your acceleration is 10 miles per hour per second.
