Then I got to this paragraph:
That last sentence confused me, and I had to re-read the paragraph several times.Quote:If the card value equals the roll of the dice the player will lose half, except if the dice are doubles a tie results in a push. This is the same rule as for the Over and Under bets. If it were not for losing half on odd numbers and non-doubles, the odds would be fair, which are as follows.
Thanks for the link to the official website. The first thing I noticed is that the people on the home page look damn familiar. They should. They are from the same image source and photographer where I got the photo I use on my Poker For Roulette site.
They did a nice job of obsuring the fact that in the stock photo the models are playing blackjack...

Where are these orgasmic people in the casino? I've never spotted them, even in the 80's. Or 90's.
If you watch closely, you'll note that the dealer removes the shaker before the players make their bet. I suspect it is during those two seconds, he is getting the next pre-set shaker. Also, there's probably cotton stuck into the shaker lid so when he 'shakes' on camera, the dice don't change.
The only reason I caught it at all is because the shaker was in the shot during the prior play, then removed as the players made their bets for the next hand. I gotta think that normal dealer procedures would be that the dealer doesn't touch the shaker until after "No more bets". The alternative would have been having an extra delay for the switch after betting, or an edit in the video.
So their effort to be less obvious about the switch actually made it more obvious to me.
These comment are not meant as a slam on this game or the production of the video. On the contrary, I think the switch was well done.
They're not gamblers. They're models / actors.Quote: EvenBobWhere are these orgasmic people in the casino? I've never spotted them, even in the 80's. Or 90's.
Put the emphasis on actors. They're not even using real casino chips.

You're wrong!!! These are real casino gamblers who, right now, as we speak, are having gambling orgasms on a casino floor somewhere... I just know it.. Sniff.....

Thanks for all the comments. I reworded that sentence. I was trying to say that the odds on the Short Side wager would be fair had all ties pushed.
Regarding the pictures, you can tell a fake smile by the lack of creases by the eyes. I think the eyebrows also dip slightly with a real smile. A fake smile just involves the mouth. I'm not an expert, but those smiles look obviously fake to me, much like the chips they are playing with.
a real actor knows how to smile convincingly.Quote: WizardThanks for all the comments. I reworded that sentence. I was trying to say that the odds on the Short Side wager would be fair had all ties pushed.

fwiw, the adds for Charles Town WV a couple of years ago had this actress who was absolutely great in these gambling ads at looking like she was genuinely thrilled to something orgasmic! Somehow she got fired, probably just a change in ad agencies, but it was kind of remarkable.
I watched it again, and was reminded of something that I forgot to mention.
It seems to me that this would use a single card for all players, since it's using one roll of the dice. That would certainly speed up the game!
Not that it matters, but this game reminds me of Acey/Deucy (aka Red Dog).

If you ever re-shoot the video...
I DO think that if you stuffed the cup, maybe not with cotton but foam rubber or something, it would work allowing you to set the dice.
And it really was the dealer reaching for the cup before it was needed, and then taking it out of the shot for that second or two, that made me think a switch was being made.
Again, there's nothing wrong with switching and stacking the deck for instructional purposes.
Heck, on my Poker For Roulette - Misc page (which I'm gonna rename, "Sample Results" page), I use photos of Roulette history displays - but only displays that have interesting, winning results.
I readily admit that they are actors. Heck, on that Misc page, at the bottom I give photo credits, including a link directly to the iStockPhoto page where you can purchase the picture I used.Quote: WizardRegarding the pictures, you can tell a fake smile by the lack of creases by the eyes.
But I only paid about $1 for the photo. Once I get my ball rolling, I want to get access to a roulette table, to take a new picture.
Then again, a while back there was a thread about some casino, I don't know where, but when I went on the casino's website, I recognized those same actors. So I did the search, then posted the original photo, and my photo, in the thread.
Is the cards reshuffle every hand?
Looking at the video demo, it is a multi-deck game.
Is it countable?
There is that other one with the one bald black guy and three other white guys in tuxedos cheering while playing Roulette. I hate that one too.
As for the write up, I only noticed one small item: In the tables for the short side bets, the "Short Side - Roll of 2" should be "Short Side - Roll of 2 or 12."
As for the math, the Wizard is always dead on.
Quote: CrystalMathIf counting were possible, it would be very easy and you would just change whether you are wagering over or under depending on the count.
Wagering on the Short Side bet depending on the count, is very good too.
Quote: Paradigm6 Deck Shoe is currently being used but is being cut so that only 2-3 decks are in play. An Advantage Player analysis has been done including development of a counting system. The conclusion was the game was not profitable enough to be counted based on the house edge & the number of decks in play.
OK Paradigm.
Good and fast game.
Good luck with it.
Maybe once the dice come to a rest and you rolled a winner. But dice are still in the air!Quote: TIMSPEEDI play craps at this place for years and I've NEVER seen people this happy!
Seems like, for whatever reason, they're doing wierd colorization. The people, and the dice in the mirror, are in color. The rest, including the one die visible, are B&W.
Wierd.
Everyone is having such a great time except the boxman. Does he look familiar?
Actually, he's the most realistic actor in that shot. Thanks for pointing him out.Quote: Wizard

The rest of the shot? Sure, when a player hits his point, the table gets excited. So that part can be real.
Bt you got a lady in the forground mugging for the camera, and almost all the other players are also ladies, and they're all hot. THAT'S the imaginary craps table I want to play at.....

Every casino uses ads like this. I'm always looking around in casinos at the people and most of the time its the polar opposite of what the ads portray. Sometimes its like the carnival is in town and all the freaks are in the casino. I can say this for sure. In the 35 years I've been going, I've seen more grossly obese people in the last 7 or 8 years than I saw in all the years previous to that. These circus-weight fat people riding in the little electric carts are common place now, they used to be the exception. The soda pop, breakfast cereal and fast food industries have really been doing their jobs, I guess.
