Has anyone seen this game (linked here)? It appears to be in the Philippines.

Basically a ball is rolled into a square with 108 sections, each with cards under them. While roulette is extremely close to truly random, I feel like this game is not, based on the slanted walls and corners.

Well I can calculate the RTP of betting on the Joker (pays 15:1), which is *theoretically* (4/108 * (15+1)) or a 59.26% house edge.

Edit: the game has 108 cards not 104

Anyways, I would calculate the house edge, but 4 of the 104 cards are jokers and I don't have time/motivation to analyze the other 100 cards to see which ones do not have duplicates :D

Well I can calculate the RTP of betting on the Joker (pays 15:1), which is *theoretically* (4/104 * (15+1)) or a 61.54% house edge.

I count 108 sections (12 x 9), so I am assuming every non-joker is there twice

Off-topic but I'd like to commend you for your fine work on braille in developing countries. That's quite inspirational.

Are you vibe coding or using ai to help you with that? I'd like to do something similar to help people with disabilities if I have the time, not sure if I could do it coding from scratch. Any advice appreciated.

Thank you

I have not found AI to be helpful with non-English Braille systems at all, but maybe it will improve in the future. Outside of work, I code everything from scratch in JavaScript.

This is off-the-record, but in retrospect I think my work was a cosmic waste of time in terms of actually helping disabled people, though it did bring attention to many endangered languages and gave some ethnic groups a more positive view of my country.

I don't really want to discuss this topic here because it would inevitably get really political and also I left linguistics for mathematics for good reasons.

Now that I am home I can actually look at this Instagram video for more than 10 seconds.

Suits pay 2:1 so the house edge should be (26/108) * (2+1) = 72.22% RTP
Ranks pay 10:1 so (8/108) * (10+1) = 81.48% RTP

However this is assuming that this setup is random like a roulette wheel, which I have trouble believing. Still, due to the low house edges, I doubt this game could be attacked by APs.
