There is a new card game called Flip 7 - its the self proclaimed "greatest card game of all time" and while I might not agree with that, its pretty cool.
The deck consists of 94 cards made up of;
12 x "12" cards
11 x "11" cards
.....
2 x "2" cards
1 x "1" cards
1 x "0" cards
6 Special orange cards
1 x "+2" card
1 x "+4" card
1 x "+6" card
1 x "+8" card
1 x "+10" card
1 x "x2" card (doubles the value of number cards, not special orange cards)
9 Action cards
3 x "flip 3"
3 x "second chance"
3 x "freeze".
Action cards can be played on any 'active' player including yourself, you can only have one of each action card on a player.
Flip 3 forces the player to flip 3
Second chance gives the player an extra life - if they draw a duplicate number card, they discard it along with the second chance and their turn ends but they do not bust
Freeze forces that player out of the round and banks their current score
The aim of the game is reach 200 points over a number of rounds, once someone does, the current round ends and the highest score wins.
Players take turns either drawing a single card or deciding to stay.
If you draw a duplicate number card (not action, or special orange card) you bust and are out with a score of zero for that round.
My question is, what is the optimal way to play the game? and does this vary for the number of players?
After a few hundred games, I feel like aiming for a score of 30 pts per round is about right, but I suspect there is more to this.

the next time Dame Fortune toys with your heart, your soul and your wallet, raise your glass and praise her thus: “Thanks for nothing, you cold-hearted, evil, damnable, nefarious, low-life, malicious monster from Hell!” She is, after all, stone deaf. ... Arnold Snyder

It's a card with a 12 on it.
Think of an Uno deck. Or Phase 10. It does sound like there's some challenging play involved.

There are some interesting decision points, like if someone has 5 cards, forcing a flip 3 on them has a good chance of busting them
