I'm reading the Pai Gow Poker rules at Wizard of Odds, and it says that the five-card hand must be "a higher value" than the two-card hand.
The question is, is AA753 a "higher value" than AA?
The "obvious" answer is no, since you should only be comparing two cards, but the Foxwoods "house way" makes no sense unless it is.

It is counted as a higher hand for the purposes of ranking pai gow hands.

You could justify it my saying Aces with kickers is better than Aces without kickers.
Casinos are not your friends, they want your money. But so does Disneyland.
