The way the original Pacman was designed doesn't really lend it to being the type of game that casinos seems to prefer, as one can develop increased skill as one plays it thus making it more difficult to control the payout. How do you remedy that?

I was thinking -- that if Pacman generated a unique maze upon each new play, you could possibly control the amount of skill a player could develop, because a player could only learn generalities about playing but wouldn't be able to base the play on a known maze each time.

So a payout or loss would be guided perhaps by timing of a finish through collecting fruit, or number of blue monsters taken out (or both)

A jigsaw puzzle game could work the same way: a unique jigsaw would be generated each play, and based on whether you could put it together within a prescribed time would determine a win or loss.

I would be interested to try such games -- (if the Wizard ever wants to create another simulation for his site)

I'm not a slot player, but I could swear that I've seen PacMan themed slot machines....

I think the PacMan bonuses, just like any bonus in a casino slot game, would not be attributable to skill. There could be an exception or two to this, such as the Wheel of Fortune games where you win a bonus if you guess a word.

My mental image is that all the dots on the layout are my chips, and PacMan is the dealer, traveling around, eating them, until they're all gone...wocka wocka wocka wocka...
The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one. The happiness of credulity is a cheap and dangerous quality.---George Bernard Shaw
