There are ones in MGM grand, planet holywood and maybe some more.
What is the typical "house edge" in them? Is there any possibility for a positive return? How much skill is involved? Do you think they are fun?
Which one is your favorite and where to find it? Any other advice?

I remember it being said that Skill based games were a huge flop and were quickly pulled out of the mainstream.
Quote: TigerWuI saw 2 or 3 of the big table sized skill games at the Linq last year that were largely being ignored. I heard they were immensely popular in some Asian countries but I guess they haven't caught on here yet.
The “skill” aspect is unfamiliar to players in the new games. That is a barrier to entry for many. The titles that players might be familiar with like “Pacman” or “Centipede” are hidden behind bonus round qualifiers that appear designed to guarantee a take for the casino before giving a little back to the skilled player. The enemy of these form factors is time. Recall that skilled video game players could play for hours on a single quarter. This will never work as a slot since volume is where the money is made.
Designers would do well to study the “skill” games at Dave and Busters for examples of games that are fun, fast, and still profitable.
I have no clue how it happened(it was definitely NOT skill), but I had to do a double take when I hit for 50,000 coins, I thought it was 5k at first, but my balance shot up 500 bucks.
I played for a while longer. I was up $494 when I left.
At this point, I think that game gives you some good bang for your buck, entertainment wise that is, especially since you can spend a lot of time thinking about where you want to aim. I think its a fun game, they did a good job. I'm sure someone could rack up the cocktails at a very low cost and be entertained while doing it. It certainly beats playing the crappy VP paytables at the bar while trying to get drinks.
Quote: AxelWolfWhile at Caesars Palace, I was waiting for a poker seat. I had a slot ticket that I needed to cash. I said, what the hell and put my slot ticket in the Gamblit muti game ( it was close to the poker room). I settled on Catapult King(it's like angry birds) and gave it a whirl. IIRC I was betting about 3 bucks a game. I never got below $20 and it lasted a long time (I didn't hear my name being called in the poker room).

I sure hope that play was the big pool’s ticket drom the coop game 😜
The second proble is that in a skill game, there is usually one player with a high skill level that will eventually win everything and run off the competition (ie profits). For this time, it was me. After putting in $20, I ran it up to near $40 if I recall before everyone else left. Same thing happened at the Linq. Unfortunately, there isnt a line of people waiting to play, so the profit for the players who do play isnt there either
My fundamental issue with them remains the same in that that I expect skilled play to result in a real shot at profitability and that feeling never crystallizes. (Regardless of whether or not it actually is; I think I'm lifetime positive on them, but due to a random larger win out of nowhere.)
The competitive Pac-Man unit intrigues me though; it looks exactly like they took Pac-Man Battle Royale and tacked the wagering system on top. Fun game.
