After the Wizard posted a thread on Three Card Blackjack, I started thinking about tournament Three card Blackjack and somehow wandered off into Three Card Rummy.

Both games use three cards and no more cards are drawn, the difference is that a player wants high cards when playing Three Card Blackjack but low cards when playing Three Card Rummy.

Now what if a player had the option to base the outcome of his hand on Three Card Rummy instead of BJ by placing a red marker on top of his cards?

Would this change the rummy strategy at all if one of the dealers cards were revealed?

Would the ability to tag your hand to Rummy instead of Blackjack be player positive (not that it matters when someone is getting knocked out every three hands but nice to know)?

And, of course, we wouldn't have any bonus bets active for BJ or bonus pays for RUMMY (just ante/raise or fold).

PS: another factor to remember is that a dealer must qualify with 17+ for BJ and 20- for RUM.

Sounds good. it will work on-line, but I think it would be difficult as a live table game.
3 Card RummyJack may sound better.

Anyway, is these two games belong to the same guy?

I have no idea...

RummyJack does sound better than Rumjack.
