For the full rules and analysis, please see my new page on Sudoku. My return is coming in lower than I thought it would for an Internet casino, so I fear I may have made an error somewhere. I invite the other math-heads of the forum to see how your numbers compare. Remember that the player gets paid for each win. For example, if the numbers were 1-1-1-2-2-2-3-4-5 the player would win 2, one for each of the two three of a kinds.
Here is more information on the combinations of each type of win.
Distribution | Combinations |
---|---|
9-0 | 9 |

3-2-1-1-1-1 | 32,659,200 |
3-1-1-1-1-1-1 | 15,240,960 |
The question for the poll is would you play this game?
So this is nothing more than just another kind of slot machine a boring one at that and has the Sudoko name, but has nothing to do with its namesake.
Is that about right? I'll pass.
Quote: MidwestAPAre you missing another winning combination 3-1-1-1-1-1-1?
Yes, thanks!
And what is with the 1/3 bigots on this forum?
This is what I get as well - because I count 76,204,800 results of 3-2-1-1-1-1 instead of the 32,659,200 you count:
9 choices for the value of the three of a kind
(9)C(3) = 84 sets of locations for the three
8 choices for the value for the pair
(6)C(2) = 15 sets of locations for the pair
7 choices for the value of the first single
6 choices for the value of the second single
5 choices for the value of the third single
4 choices for the value of the fourth single
9 x 84 x 8 x 15 x 7 x 6 x 5 x 4 = 76,204,800
yay math

When I first saw it, I thought "with replacement" meant that it was like VP, and you had the option to replace any or all of the digits. (It refers to the fact that the number in each square can appear in other squares. It wouldn't be much of a game if all 9 digits had to appear on the screen every time.)
Well, you included that option....Quote: WizardAnd what is with the 1/3 bigots on this forum?
I was thinking the same thing.Quote: tringlomaneWhen I first read this, I got excited because I assumed there was some skill factor involved. My mistake.
Quote: ThatDonGuyThe help screen says that the "in order" jackpot must be 1 to 9 (and not 9 to 1), and that the expected return is "about 94.32%".

You're absolutely right! Thanks for the correction. I owe you a beer. Just goes to show you can have a whole spreadsheet full of numbers and one wrong number spoils the whole thing.

I think he's moved on to an AP pong casino game. You choose the size of the paddle and the speed of the ball and can jack it all the way up to 101.3%. Minimum bet is $150.
ZCore13
Nevada could offer it if they clearly point out the jackpot has a ridiculous 1 in 387,420,489 probability on the payglass. I'd rather hit Powerball thanks.
