Ok so, I'm pretty boring in the casino. I bring all my money to the craps table and might blow $50 at blackjack or roulette during my "other" time. I've decided to learn a new game.

I understand the house edge built into horse racing. I get it. Still, there's a chance of a huge payout (big bonus for me). I would really appreciate to hear from anyone here who bets on horses regularly.

On UTH, I like the chance at a larger payout and I've known a bunch of people who really like it. It seems fun enough and a game I've always wanted to try (but I never had a bankroll to screw around at a new game until now).

I gave a serious thought to adding baccarat or Pai Gow (tiles/poker), but I'm not sure how much I would enjoy those games. Nonetheless, I left an "other" tab. I'm not looking for a brand new game, I want to learn an established game.

I'm all for learning the horses. I find it enjoyable because it makes you think and you do research to make your picks. Or you could just play numbers, LOL its fun when you hit huge when you play numbers.

The learning curve in horse racing is very steep as I'm sure it is in UTH. Making money betting ponies is one tough proposition. The win/place/show takeout is approximately 20%- 25% and up on exotic wagering. So you have to be 25% better than the composite of gamblers on any given day to break even. Today more info is available and easily accessible to a anybody who is remotely curious, thus compressing payouts. The hunch players have for the most part have left the tracks for the slot machines. Compressing payouts even more. I've know and have known some really good horse players. They eat, drink and sleep the horses. Everyone to a player has an incredible memory and an uncanny knack for picking winners. An advantage can be gained over other players with a large bankroll.e.g. being able to get better coverage on Trifecta, Superfecta, Pick 4 and Pick 6 wagering. Leverage. If you want fun and excitement then horse racing is the ticket. No house lording over you trying to get every penny you have or will ever have while acting like they care.

I personally think UTH is more fun.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. I've started to think I'm not willing to put in the time necessary to feel good enough about horse racing. In order to get my feet wet, I might just throw $20 on a handful of longshots and pray. In addition, I'll pick one of the "boring" games like Baccarat/Tiles, with 20 units of flat betting, in order to be able to say "I've played it".
