At the end of 2011, Department of Justice recently made a decision redefining the "Wire Act". The way I read it, is that the Wire Act will only relate to sporting events or contests.

What does this mean for online gambling in the United States in the near future?

What does this mean for Las Vegas? Smaller casinos across the country?

The states are poised to pounce on this. Buying lottery tickets online now is right around the corner [if not already available]. Just a matter of time before the Bovadas out there are competing with the state of New Jersey or whoever IMO. For some reason not clear to me, private online outfits may *not* be expected to set up as US companies right away [not sure]
