I don't think the casino gives a darn whether you have deposited or not. Rather it's an easy way of generating risk free cash for the casino. Buy in's generate a lot more dough than what is given out in prize money. My veiw is if you don't get in the top 10 with your free roll it's only worth buying in if the prize money is worth it. Poker sites also offer free rolls to make gazillions of steady cash too me thinks, though me could be wrong.
