Appreciate the well wishes from folks and invite all to visit G2E to see what we are cooking up.
Still have free passes available.
Is NTEK going to be applying for a Nevada Gaming manufacturers license?

We have, in fact, started that process. Obtaining a non-restricted gaming license (for manufacturing) is not a necessary step to get to market for us though. Historically, we have partnered with existing licensed gaming manufacturers to bring things to market. I don't have all the details (for example, the name of the game, the partner we used, and so on) as I was not involved in those previous projects. Even if I did, I'm unsure if I would be allowed to share those details. If you are extremely interested, let me know and I can find out if that's something I could disclose, but those individuals are not on our current team at this time (it's conceivable that they might be in the future, however).

Quote:By allowing game strategy to impact the expected value per bet, while retaining the operator’s ability to adjust machines to meet their desired hold percentage, and operating within all local betting regulations, interactive game creators will be able to develop a new line of casino games that appeal to the recurring players
So, how is this different from video poker or blackjack? Your strategy impacts your EV, and the casino can set the max to be whatever they want by changing the rules and/or the payouts.
Quote: superrickI will be interested in see what you have come up with at the show, good luck with what ever you come up with, in the future!
Thanks, Rick. I am very hopeful that this game will be lots of fun for lots of players. I appreciate very much your well-wishes.

The details of the math model as it relates to advantage play are not being released at this time.
I have asked the Wizard for his advice, and he has recommended an excellent resource that we have been consulting with about these details.
We will be doing a full presentation of how the game works at G2E.

I'm not asking you to tell me how to beat your game :)
I'm just pointing out that the idea that playing strategy can alter your EV, with a max set by the house, is not a new concept.

You asked how it is different. I am going to tell that at G2E. Not here.
Fair enough. I'm sure I'll be spending some quality time in your booth.Quote: AhighYou asked how it is different. I am going to tell that at G2E. Not here.
But for those that can't make it to G2E, be prepared to post PDFs here of whatever handouts you use at G2E - as well as posting them on your website!
Quote: ParadigmOne question: Does the Pinball game have Bally's "Space Invaders" as one of the available games? That was my favorite growing up and the demo of the video based pinball looks very cool!
No. Sorry. I loved that game too though. U turn specials!

Can I get a brochure as well. You know, old folks have short term memories.
Quote: AxelWolfWhen can we expect to see the new games on casino floors?
I hope it's soon. A lot depends on what happens at this show. We are working hard over here on Dean Martin Drive to make this show go as well as possible!
Wish us well, and thanks, guys.
Quote: DRichAaron, If you haven't already you should contact Joe Kaminkow. He is now VP of slot development at Aristocrat and is a legendary pinball designer.
I have a tremendous amount of respect for Joe. There are actually some other former pinball guys in gaming, too. I keep in contact with many current pinball designers (EG: George Gomez and Steve Ritchie) and they have been aware of what I've been doing since CES. We bought the Star Trek Pinball machine directly from Gary Stern (I gave him cash) at the CES show. The Marco guys have been in the know about what we've been doing all along as well and all of them have been very supportive.
Steve Ritchie (the "greatest pinball designer of all time") used to work across the hall from me and Stephen Riesenberger (the game designer of our pinball game). I actually took that photo of Steve that is on Wikipedia as a matter of fact. I also rode dirt bikes all the time with Steve Ritchie back in 1997-2001 when I was at Atari Games. Even after he left Atari, we still got together to ride dirt bikes and we are good friends.
The group of people that make coin-operated machines and slot machines are a pretty tight knit group, actually. IGT has had me tucked away in a corner for a number of years now, so it's great to be able to show my work to the general public. This will be the first time my work has been shown since UltraPin, actually.

I'm looking forward to visiting with you at our booth, and thanks for your interest!
Also, thanks for the suggestion about the brochure, and yes we are already on track with having one for the show. Stephen gets credit for planning that though, not me.
Quote: teddysAHigh has some amazing stuff and I encourage everyone to visit his booth at G2E. If it's anything close to what he showed me at his office, prepare to be amazed. And I mean jaw-dropping-ly amazed.
Thanks, Teddy. We are really looking forward to the big day!
