Quote: djatcWas the money worth having your comps revoked?
Are you talking about playing blackjack or selling a discounted buffet?
Quote: IbeatyouracesI was once behind two ladies that were going to pay full price in cash for the two buffets ($52 total). I offered to use my comps and only charge them $20 total. They refused and paid the full $52. All I could do was shake my head.
It's because virtually EVERYONE in casinos thinks that if someone offers a financial favor that they are somehow being tricked and robbed. If you are incapable of thought its not a bad way to be.
Rich, this is exactly what I was thinking and had to restrain myself, everything I thought of seemed suspension worthy.Quote: DRichI had to restrain myself from posting when I read that too. I was thinking that might be a new low for this forum.
Add in my scraping the bottom of the barrel comment and I think you summed it up "A NEW LOW for the forum." Advertising, selling a measly buffet comp to other forum members, all to make $10, makes me cringe.
I could have looked passed it, if he said he was doing it in order to donate to the: Save The Wizards Websites Fund or some worthy cause.
I can defiantly see selling large amounts of comps or expensive rooms at a discount to someone..... but a $10 buffet food comp? Very tacky to say the least. I couldn't bring myself to do that. Hell, I feel awkward when someone insists they pay for dinner or they insist on leaving the tip.
Useing comps WITH cute girls is + EV. That was the best part of being an AP. This helped me earn lots of tail before I got trapped.
Note: Lem66 I think your a nice guy so even tho I think this is cheap, its all cool. I'm sure I have done worst things in my life that others would find deplorable, I'm no saint, I may or may not have streamed a few movies and I refuse to pay for Netfix

I just want to get the cash value back on my comps. I'm doing a favor here really.
This is very normal, people think its a con/scam or something nefariousness. I have even tried to give away buffet tickets in a situation like you we're describing and got a no thank you. You have to approach certain people (younger people usually) you can look at someone and tell if they approachable and they are going to go for it.Quote: IbeatyouracesI was once behind two ladies that were going to pay full price in cash for the two buffets ($52 total). I must have the approachable look because, I always get the: *Psst!! Hey, you! yeah, you, I got something. It dose not bother me, I have got a ton of very good deals. Including hundreds of dollars worth of 50% off on Walmart gift cards.

I don't accept such offers from strangers, either. Next thing I know you're gone and I'm refused entry to the buffet and I'm out some money. Or next thing I know the comps work, but you feel entitled to make any kind of demands on me.
I also don't let strangers use my Costco or Sam's Club card. Maybe they're paying with a stolen credit card, or a forged check, and my name will be attached to the transaction.
Quote: IbeatyouracesThe way it works here is that I'd swipe my card at a kiosk , enter my PIN, then receive a receipt. Its paid for at that point and you cannot be refused. You wouldn't lose out.
Yes. But I wouldn't know that when you made the offer. So I'd very likely still refuse.
I've seen and heard about too many scams involving free or very cheap items. One time a friend told me of a customer of his who was offering a rather nice PC setup, for the time, for a very reasonable amount. Of course they were illegally imported, but who cares about that? I refused the offer, though I very badly wanted a PC then (at the time I had an Apple ][e). My firend lost the full low-low sale price, plus about $20 he gave the guy for gas money. And this was someone he knew and had dealt with.
Quote: Lemieux66You'll find that even though you're staying at showboat, you won't be playing at showboat. The blackjack games are all awful, the poker is mediocre, and there isn't a 9:6 machine in the place.
Showboat has eight 9:6 machines, but you must play $50 for each tier point. Look at slot location "KM" for those machines.

Oh god that's awful. Quarter machines? Progressive? JoB?
Quote: Lemieux66Oh god that's awful. Quarter machines? Progressive? JoB?
The eight Showboat machines have several games and denominations. So, you can play 9:6 jacks-or-better at quarters, half dollars, or dollars on those machines. A royal flush pays a flat $1000 for 5 quarters bet.
Quote: BozCaesars also has eight of these machines near the Toga Bar at .25, also $50 for one Tier Credit.
Caesars has the best ones. 9:6 JoB progressive. Quarter machine.

Well I do go back into town this Wednesday...

Anyway, apparently I'm a shameful human being YET I am still selling a dinner buffet this Friday for $10 if anyone is around.
How low! Save me $10 for the buffet midweek in September.Quote: Lemieux66Anyway, apparently I'm a shameful human being YET I am still selling a dinner buffet this Friday for $10 if anyone is around.
Takers?
Quote: sodawaterI will sell a dinner buffet swipe for $9.75 on Friday.
Takers?
My company makes my deal better.

Considering that Axel is trying to lowball me on the show tickets, I should have money left.

Bazinga
Sounds like you were playing with Neutrino.Quote: Lemieux66Overheard at the poker table, one guy asks another "What is Jewish?" Lmao

Neutrino needs to be about 60 then.
Quote: Lemieux66Lemieux doesn't understand why people in Vegas play 6:5 BJ or the CSM machines. Also, why people don't cross the street when no cars are coming. I don't care if the hand says stay, there are NO. CARS. COMING.
Well if you want to be technical about it, crossing when it says not to could get you a ticket for jaywalking
Quote: GWAEWell if you want to be technical about it, crossing when it says not to could get you a ticket for jaywalking
Well that's stupid. If everyone did it though they couldn't logically give tickets.

I believe that is what they consider anarchy

Do you really want to win a Darwin award by not waiting on the most dangerous street in the las Vegas area?

It's not dangerous if there are no cars around.

It's called saving time in your life by not waiting for no reason. I understand if you're old, but if it's a narrow side street and you can move you MOVE.
I don't mind.Quote: Lemieux66Had a great time in Vegas. Karaoke, crushed it in poker, had a great dinner at trop with a member of the site(not revealing who in case that person doesn't want me to), met Cryme Time from wrestling, and enjoyed time with 50 or so friends.
I had a nice dinner with Lemieux66 and my GF at Biscayne Steak Sea & Wine, supposedly, its a top rated Las Vegas steakhouse on the strip(Its certainly good). We talked about a variety of things.
I cant remember who right now but, he reminds me of a particular comedy TV actor.
He seemed very honest sincere about everything (he didn't seem to Bragg or exaggerate anything) including his adventures of Lemieux in AC, he didn't strike me as someone not telling the truth as far as his BJ heat. (I didn't get to watch him play BJ) The mystery remains.
I hope he don't mind but I did get a good laugh at the fact he kept his money(and ID?) in a Zip lock baggy.
PS. I didn't charge him for the comp (;

Generally, I keep my ID around my keychain. I just took it off for Vegas because I didn't want to take unnecessary metals with me on the plane. I get tons of odd looks by people for doing this but that's fine.
The best thing is on the 26th is the Survivor casting call. Hopefully this year I do a better job during the very brief interview process.
