Any thoughts?
Di's are staying off the tables because they are losing their arses. The money in dice control, is in giving lessons and writing books/ seminars.Quote: Blackjack12345I was watching a video and heard someone say the different color dice have different weights? This is how the casinos keep DI's off the table?
Any thoughts?

Every place I've worked at the dice were the same color...And if you look closely, they are transparent..So I'm pretty sure that's a big ol No.
And lets say they were weighted, as long as you hit the back wall with both dice, physics takes over..that's the point of that wall.

You haven't gone out much. Many colors, some non transparent. If Gamblers General store still exists, you can order a few sticks.
There are guys out there claiming the casinos use unbalanced dice, and that's why they keep losing. But they are too stupid to figure out how to benefit from it, if it has any effect. So I say if that is the case the evidence is also that they are too stupid to really be able to determine any bias to start with.

The casinos probably drag them to the table to influence.

I have rolled "loaded dice". Not in a casino, but a friend had some years back. One face was so much heavier than the others it almost always landed on the same face, if I recall they were set up to roll boxcars. These were meant as gag gifts, not to try and slip into a casino. But, back wall or not, physics does take over, and if one face is that much heavier than the others it will land face down more than 1/6 of the time. Just to be clear I am not saying this is relevant in a casino, unless someone could be successful at both manufacturing such dice, and have them not be noticed by casino personnel while changing them for the regular dice.
I know the evil nay sayers on here will say... oh each roll is independent and random... yada yada, but I listen to dealers when they say there is a hot or cold flow. So I decided to just hang out and watch for a little without playing. What I saw next was absolutely ridiculous. Now Ive played dice a long time and Ive seen just about everything, but this got me thinking a bit. The next 15 out of 19 rolls were all 7s. Im not sure about fixed dice and all that jazz, but this was an eye opener. And no, I did not jump on the dont... just never do. besides they all lost on the come out while playing dont.
Best case, 15 come out winners followed by 4 non-7's to either lose immediately or establish a point and possibly win, or 15 winners interspersed with 2's, 3's and 12's, so no point is ever established. Could even be more than 15 winners if there are some 11's in there, or like I said a point is established and it actually wins.
Worst case, 4 rolls of a non-seven that either immediately loses or establishes a point that then loses on a roll of a 7 that immediately follows.
Did I do that right? Is that a cold table?
Quote: Dalex64So, that is between 11 and 15 (or more) one-roll winners on the come-out roll.

I was not there before to see the chronology of events. But they said it was cold so Im assuming there were a lot of 7 outs. I merely witnessed a sh%$ load of 7s, regardless of how you played it.. come line or dont, etc, my point was that Ive never seen so many 7s , which lends to the loaded dice topic... although I dont think they do it on regular craps tables in the casinos... you never know!

Lazy ones.. perhaps.

Nah, If a table goes dead and a player asks me if its a cold table i just say depends on what you bet.
Many dealers will say 'choppy but a bit better on the xxxxxx side'.
Or perhaps a dealer is simply pissed off at being asked anything at all: "Just buy in and take whatever happens or else keep on going by without bothering me at all."

There really isnt anything a dealer can say to deter or entice a player to play.
