thus $20 Buy = $1 vig
but a $25 Buy that also results in a $1 vig lowers the house edge to 1.33% (or so i've read).
I'm assuming at a $35 Buy, the casino will round up to $2 vig. only fair since they rounded down at $25.
How about a $30 Buy?
And which casinos round down even on a $39 Buy?
You have $20. You step up to a Craps table.Quote: 100xOdds5% commision on 4/10 after the # is hit = 1.67% house edge.
thus $20 Buy = $1 vig
You make a Buy4 and it wins.
They pay you $59 and down and you are looking at the $59 and know it should be $60, but you take it because that is the casino's payoff.
but the vig is $1. HE = 1/60

Most will round up a $35. Seems fair you say.Quote: 100xOddsI'm assuming at a $35 Buy, the casino will round up to $2 vig. only fair since they rounded down at $25.

Most casinos I worked at it was always up to the boxman. IF you were in good standings he would maybe charge you $1 the first 2 times then $2 the 3rd time.
House and boxman rules.
They know you want to pay the least on a vig.
They were not born yesterday.
Never seen or heard of it in Nevada or CA or CT.Quote: 100xOddsAnd which casinos round down even on a $39 Buy?
Answer this question.
Why would a casino only charge $1 vig on a $39 Buy?
as to why charge $1 vig on $39 buy:
-to help the bettor (not too likely)
-to entice people to come into their casino (more likely)
round up *a* $35 (Buy bet)Quote: 100xOddsround up to $35?

You never know how might read your post.
I guess the other problem would be having your dealers remember that it's Monday, or having customers bitch cause they bought it for $1 on Monday, and now on Wednesday it's $5.
Quote: ewjones080If I were a table games director, I would be inclined to offer a special promotion either the slowest two week stretch of the year, or the slowest day of the week, where you could buy the 4/10 up to $100 for only $1 vig. Where I work vigs are paid up front though, so the house edge would be just under 1%.
