According to one of the computer experts, he programmed his computer to get the best way to play this craps game and it determined that the best way of playing craps is Pass-odds and place the 6 and 8, then continuous come-odds bets. This certainly makes sense per the odds of the game. Personally do not like the come bets, so have made a couple of changes and it has worked well in several day sessions.
Specifically, start the new shooter with $5 pass then $10 odds on the point, and place the 6 and 8 at $12. Then WAIT for a hit on either of these 2 or 3 initial bets. If the initial point is 6 or 8, will have just two numbers covered with pass-odds and the place bet on the sister number. IF get a hit on these initial bets, then start continuous place bets at $10 on each as each is rolled until all the box numbers are covered meaning if a 10 is rolled, then place the 10 after it is rolled, then a 5 is rolled so place the 5 at $10, etc. Continue with the pass-odds bet also if the roll continues past the first point. No pressing and no regressions. The waiting for a hit before proceeding with furthur place bets helps minimize the downside swings. Need a $600 day session bankroll.
This is a good steady performer and does well on the usual choppy tables.

Define "best" and we can talk :)
"Then you can admire the real gambler, who has neither eaten, slept, thought nor lived, he has so smarted under the scourge of his martingale, so suffered on the rack of his desire for a coup at trente-et-quarante" - Honore de Balzac, 1829

Best is not hard to define here. Meaning the most likely betting scheme to produce a winner. He was a do sider as most are. I have also played it just starting with pass-odds and betting the 6 OR 8 to start then starting the place bets after a hit, and had similar results, with less downside runs. For more conservative bettors, starting with a max of 2 bets is better due to the PSO spurts, but the wins are slightly less.
