Two. Good and Bad. Lol. I guess they could all be added up... don't forget hop bets too. And some of these new: All Tall, All Small, etc. Buffalo bets have two definitions so that must be two bets. Some tables allow Put Bets as well. Some even allow Place to Lose.Quote: roe4erici am a dice dealer and have heard numerous number of bets available to a player? does anyone know how many bets are offered to a player in a craps game?
I'll stick with Basic Strategy though. (Most of the time, that is).
With a choice of a two-way or a piggy-back, it seems like you should triple the number...
Reminds me of that woman at Monte Carlo (Europe) who every night bet on every number at the roulette table. She always had a winner. Of course she was rich enough not to really care that each and every spin was a net loss.Quote: gamblerand let me know what the table minimum for an "All Bet" would be at a $5 table.

In dice dealing class we were told there were about 95 different bets depending on what was offered (Big 6/8, Fire Bet, etc)
Quote: DJTeddyBearWhatever number you come up with, don't forget the bets for the boys.

If you're going to include that, then the number of bets approaches infinity, since the amount of the bet could also be changed.
$6 place-6, $12 place-6, $18 place-6, $24 place-6 ..... up to table maximum
$6 place-6 with $1 place-6 for boys, $6 place-6 with $2 place-6 for boys, ....
1) I have not included bets like the horn, horn highs, or world bets as I consider these to be simply combinations of other bets. While dealers learn payout keys for many of these bets and they are printed on the layouts, I don't think they should be counted as separate bets just because the terms have been accepted into the craps world. I think if these bets were to be included, the list could be endless depending on the terms used in different regions/casinos. Hop the 7's, three way craps, Hi-Lo-Yo, across, inside, outside, uptown, downtown... I could start making up my own bets like "Hop the easy evens" and count it if I don't draw the line somewhere.
Yeah, I know - that's like saying that red/black/odd/even should not be counted as separate bets in Roulette either. But the difference to me is that on a $5 game, you can bet the table minimum on those outside bets, but you cannot spread that same $5 over all 18 numbers of a given group when betting inside (for those of you who don't know, betting $18 on black/red/odd/even/1-18/19-36 pays the same as betting $1 on all 18 of the numbers that fall into the given group). This is unlike a horn bet where the bet can be split.
But what about the C-E? The payout key is typically 3x and 7x for that bet, and dealers let you bet in odd increments (3, 5, 7, 9, etc.) that would not otherwise be possible betting on Any Craps or Yo separately. Yet... the minimum (as far as I know) is $2 for that bet because the minimum is $1 each for the C and E. If a player asked for a $5 split Ace-Deuce/Yo, would the dealer book the bet? In my experience, yes - a boxperson will allow a bet as long as it can be paid. Does that mean I should also include that combination of a bet? You make the call... I haven't included either.
2) I have included Place bets to lose, put bets, Big 6/8, and fire bets even though I know they're not available everywhere.
3) The Pass odds, Don't odds, Come odds, DC odds, place, lay, buy, put, and place to lose bets have all been counted six times. You may never see a buy on the 6/8, and some boxpeople may not even allow it, but they technically exist.
4) Somebody mentioned bets for the dealers, but I do not believe these can be counted. Whether straight up, two-way or piggy backed, they still win/lose/get paid the same as the bets that the players make (except for perhaps the occasional vig).
5) Is Pass the same as Come, and Don't Pass the same as Don't Come? Technically no, they are different bets so I have counted them as such. But in practice they are the same as long as you work your odds on the come out roll. I count them separately.

That's 65. If you wanted to count odds on each Come / DC bet that would be 77.
Lay bets pay 1/2 on the 4,10....2/3 on the 5/9....and 5/6 on the 6/8.
What are the payouts on the 'place to lose bets'?

Place to lose is essentially the same as a lay bet, just as the Big 6/8 is the same as Place bets on the same number (just with different payouts).
5 to 11 on the 4 & 10....5 to 8 on the 5 & 9....and 4 to 5 on the 6 & 8

Thanks for the info. I've never seen anyone make this bet in all my years of playing.
AC does not have the Big 6 & 8. I know they also don't have 'put bets'. I'll have to ask them about 'place to lay bets'.

You won't find them in AC either. From what I understand, you can only find this bet in Australia.

I have never been to AC and never make "put bets" so it really doesn't matter to me...BUT why on earth would a casino not allow put bets? Do they allow a pass line bet after the point is established? Because its essentially the same thing....

I don't know the official rulings, but maybe this explanation will help.
Table games in AC are regulated by the state of NJ. The casinos may have wanted 'put bets' but the state said "no dice" (pun intended).
The state of NJ realized that playing the Big 6 or 8 also was a bad bet for the player. They banned it. That's why you won't see it at an AC craps table.
