Hard eight will roll twice in a row, but just like aces, if you bet it an easy eight is guaranteed on the very next roll. My anecdotal evidence also suggests that a 7 will roll more than 1 in 6 times, UNLESS you are playing the don't, in which case 1 in 12 is much more likely, and you will see 5,6,8 and 9 repeatedly until your chips are gone..
In the unlikely event a number you have placed a bet on actually hits, you may want to employ full pressure, because the table is suddenly hot. This is merely a red herring to remove the chips from your rail and place them in front of the boxman.
I can't wait to get back to the casino and put my new skills to work!
😆😆😆👍Quote: HeadlockI have been using my quarantine time wisely by working on my craps skills and I'm not bragging, I'm getting pretty good. For instance, I can predict with some certainty you will lose almost every time.
Quote: HeadlockWho was the guy who said he had seen 18 in a row? Was it Alan xxxxxxx?
Yes.
And as the original poster said in his post, had any of the three of us at the table bet on the 11 we wouldn't have seen 18 yos in a row.
what do you actually consider truth? Do the math on 18 yo’s in a row and Get back to us!Quote: HeadlockTruth

What’s the math on you being born and not all the other possibilities from your father’s sperm and mother’s egg? Seriously do the math.
I did read the math some where a few decades ago. Not even close to 1/18 to the 18th power.Quote: unJonWhat’s the math on you being born and not all the other possibilities from your father’s sperm and mother’s egg? Seriously do the math.

#fakenews. Many orders of magnitude off on the first question.
18 to the 18th is an answer of its own, but a good calculator can crunch this instantlyQuote: DeMangoGoogle is our friend: I am one out of 250,000,000. Anybody have the computing power to calculate 1/18 to the 18th power?
1 in 39,346,408,075,296,537,575,424
neighborhood of 10^22 in the denominator, ten sextillion for what that's worth
that one chance means it's not impossible if preposterously improbable. The question becomes why would it happen and not have received more notoriety?
sorry, Alan, once this gets started ...

No need to apologize to me. I enjoy it now. I saw it. You don't believe it. I never bet on it. I don't have a $1.5-million RV because of it. I didn't buy houses for my kids because of it. I never concocted stories about lost tax records that could have proved it (had I bet on it).
My error was being a stupid starting craps player who should have immediately taken names and numbers and asked for a copy of the tape.
Yes, I was blasted for not betting even $1 on the yo.
Live and learn.
Meanwhile, when I see a horn, I now bet a horn.
So which is more stupid? LOL
Got this from Google. Number of sperm in one ejaculation. But infinitesimal compared to the higher number.Quote: unJon#fakenews. Many orders of magnitude off on the first question.

Actually insulting Rob Singer doesn't add to the conversation. But you two do have one thing in common: Tall tales.

Like I said, i enjoy it now.
But all these years later no one has come forward to say "but Alan I was there at the table, and you reported this wrong."
Not a dealer, not one of the other two players including the shooter, not a supervisor or manager, no one from security... no one.
But the math is the math.
I see. You googled the wrong thing. My fault for not being clearer. Your answer neglects the random chance of which egg mother releases, the chance that the coitus happens with that ejaculation vs another. Read a paper on this once and the chance was between one in 400 trillion and one in 400 quadrillion. Still orders of magnitude less than 18 yos, but this is only for one instance (your parents). Do the same for your grandparents, etc, and it will dwarf the 18 yos.Quote: DeMangoGot this from Google. Number of sperm in one ejaculation. But infinitesimal compared to the higher number.
Which is not to say I believe the story about 18 yos. Not at all. It’s more to say that I disbelieve the story that you exist. It’s just way too unlikely an event and nothing you say to me will convince me otherwise. ;-)

What's really funny is that this is one of the things I brought up years ago when I first mentioned witnessing the event.
I said it was more likely that 18 yos in a row would be thrown than any one of us existing.
It's also more likely that 18 yos in a row would be thrown than it's still being discussed today years later with no new info about the event.
I'm more concerned right now with the chances that I might get back in business before 2021. But it's more likely that 18 yos in a row will continue to get more discussion.

Nice try.
But anyone with any brain seeing what happened would have contacted media, dice boards, social media, friends and neighbors.
Crickets.

I was the media. And as the business and consumer news reporter for the CBS owned and operated TV stations in Los Angeles, and as the anchor of the morning business news on CBS owned KFWB all news radio in LA, let me explain that 18 yos in a row didn't make the news then AND it wouldn't make the news now.
What you think is earth shattering in the real world just isn't.
Thanks for a good laugh.
Thanks for a good laugh!
Quote: DeMangoWhen that roll by grandma in AC happened, it hit the news, dice boards, and word of mouth. But your story, on a magnitude of odds that dwarfs Pat’s roll, crickets? Not a Caesars employee with any recollection of the largest odds bending event of the century?
Thanks for a good laugh!
What didn't hit the news was the shooter at Caesars who after grandma threw for four and a half hours.
Why?
The AC casino had a PR firm that pushed the story. Caesars didn't care.
But you are diverting attention.
Go ask anyone outside of a gambling forum about rolling 18 yos in a row and see if they even care. Ask ten shoppers in your supermarket.
Then call up the assignment desk at your local TV station or newspaper.
No one cares. No one in the real world, that is.
And I'm sorry this has tormented you for years.
Quote: DeMangoThis ain't Walmart. The crowd here does care. It tormented you for so long you left here. Doesn't torment me at all. But all the newer members do need to know what you claim, without any proof, and the astronomical odds against it happening.
You win.
