Sometimes the table clears out and leaves me alone as the shooter. Since my shooting is likely horrible at some point alone; I'm tempted to bet against myself.
I could bet Don't Pass and try to roll craps on the come-outs. I could bet a Don't Come and try to throw more craps. If I get good at throwing craps I could try some C & E bets. But I'd try to get 2 bets up on the Don'ts and then try to throw 7's.

I often bet don't pass while shooting. But I don't harbor any delusions that I can "try" to throw certain numbers and have any success.

its known as bank craps, the casino books all bets. no one is betting for the shooter or agaist him.
I often shoot from the don't; it only amazes the ignorant.

Youre not betting against yourself (or against the shooter).Quote: ChumpChange... I'm tempted to bet against myself ...
As the name suggests, youre betting against the [successful] Pass. That is all.

My shooting identity is to roll for half an hour and get two points. I might want to bet against that.

ponder what you are saying here and then let's go onQuote: ChumpChange...my shooting is likely horrible at some point alone;
So let's think about this. You say you can't consistently roll what you want in the first case, but somehow think you can maybe roll what you want in the second case. You plan to do so good at it that you'll bet some sucker bets. Really?Quote:I'm tempted to bet against myself.

Look, I know what you are saying. Fine.
I've noticed you are one of the Craps players that post here with "cheerleader" posts. "I'm going to do this! Do I hear a V? Do I hear an I? Do I hear a C? [etc]. What's that spell? Victory!" So I did your cheer for you.
We only seem to get this with Craps players. Even Baccarat players are trying to post something meaningful even when they are all wet.

DJTeddyBear and Fleastiff are spot-on.
Coin tosses are theoretically 50/50. I use the ratio 49/49 when explaining Pass and Don't to newbies. Gotta give the casino its little bite, although I slightly overstate that bite to keep things simple.
