Craps Players,
When I'm home practicing Craps play, it's easy to keep tract of where I am with wins or loses. But at the Casinos, play goes faster and I don't have a very organized way to keep tract of where I stand money-wise.---other than putting my initial buy-in chips in one channel, and the winnings in the other channel. It seems to start out OK, but gets mixed up as time goes by.
What system works best for you keeping tract of your money--if you do keep tract.
Thanks,
Dick

Let's say I buy in for $300, they give me green, red and white.
I organize / keep track of my chips by placing them in four adjoining sections of the rail.
Bottom right is for the green, top right is for the white.
I keep no more than $25 or red in the top left: bottom left is for the remaining red.
With all colors I clump them into five chips each, storing them horizonally, then vertically, then horizontally etc.
This makes it easy to know at a glance exactly how much I have in the rails.
The four green ($25) chips

Thanks MrV,
Your system seems simple enough--I'll try it out.

MrV,
I reread again:
You said bottom right is green (I assume green is $25 value).
Top right is white (I assume white is $1 value).
Top left is red, and you keep no more than $25 in this position, with all remaining reds placed in bottom left.
So it sounds like you are using the $25, top left reds for pressing, or new placebets, or maybe a center field bet.
If the shooter 7's out, then you'll have to replenish the top left reds with reds from the lower left red area.
Regarding the horizontal/vertical placement: Do the chips stay put in the rails when in the horizontally place fashion? I'll have to experiment on my next visit to the Casino
Thanks again for your ideas,
Dick

The box and the base dealers and most players keep their high value chips the most protected ones.
If you spread out on the rail, be careful of 'rail birds'.
I keep an 'unsorted' area... which during some lull in the game I will sort.
The only chips I have that might be vulnerable are white chips for the waitress.
Not trying to make anyone paranoid but this is important. If you lose money
let it be on the layout, not the rail.
Yes, I learned this from experience.
Every time I go up to my hotel room I turn the wrong way and then retrace my steps
so I can be certain no one is following me to my room. Necessary? Of course not.
Butwhat does it cost to do it and what will it cost if I don't do it?

The top left section is the "working" section of red chips; I try to limit the number of chips in top left to no more than five chips at a time.
If during a roll I win and must store in the rail more than five chips there (yay, success!) I move five, ten or whatever grouping of five chipsfrom top left to the the lower left "excess red chip" area; if I run out of red in the upper left I transfer five chips from lower left to upper left so as to have ammo to fight with.
By "vertical" I mean standing on edge, the way chips normally are oriented; by "horizontal" I mean laying a chip in the rail resting on its side: I have a pile of five chips on their side next to a vertical group of five, alternating.
This is key, and I use it for white, red and green chips.
It is by keeping everything in different looking / alternating groups of five that I can readily determine and recognize the value of the chips in my rail at a glance.

Thanks FleaStiff,
It's good to be reminded to be cautious regarding chips as well as cautious in and around the Casino premises. 99% of us are trustworthy, but a small few may take advantage. I've never had any trouble yet, but "caution is the better part of valor!"
