A few months ago I was at a local casino playing. Our table was up to 4 points toward the fire bet. The other open table was at 5 points to the fire bet.

A loud cheer went up from the other table, signaling they hit the sixth point. We were routing our guy on when he hit his 5th point. About 20 minutes after the other table hit their sixth point, our guy pulled through and hit his sixth!

So here we have two tables that his six point fire bets. Both tables are shut down while we're waiting the ~2 hours to be paid. Lots of talk about how amazing this feat seems to be.

What I've been wondering since it happened is what are the odds of that occurring? Two craps tables (the only ones open if that makes any difference) hitting six point fire bets within ~20 minutes of each other. I've seen the charts on what the odds of getting the six point fire is to begin with, but two tables simultanously brings it to another level I would think.

The short answer is 100%.

I.E.: Sooner or later, two adjacent tables will hit a 6 pointer simultaneously.

What's the odds that it will happen when you're there? Too many variables involved to calculate.

For example, define 'simultaneous'. In your example, it was ~20 minutes apart. Seems like you're willing to accept a lot of wiggle room.

Bottom line: shit happens.
