First, thank you to the Wizard of Odds for creating this knowledge base and supporting its spread.
I'd like to know if playing the Don't Pass/Don't Come bets with laying 6x odds AND placing bets on the 6 and 8 after the come out roll (or placing a bet on the 6 or 8 if the point is 8 or 6, respectively) has an expected return (ER) different from the sum of the ERs listed here (/games/craps/appendix/1/) for the Don't Pass/Don't Come and Place 6/8 bets. No other bets are made except the Don't Come bets until a new come out roll.
If this strategy has an ER different from this sum, what would it be?
Thanks.

Hi crapssparc, and welcome to the forums. There is indeed a lot to learn and to have fun with here.
Every bet on a craps table is independent of every other bet except for odds (which have NO ER in the long run because they have a 0% HE). Thus, your expected return should be the additive negative expectations from all of your bets, as you previously thought. Sorry, but there are no winning combination of negative HE bets that could ever overcome the HE, and no combination of negative bets that "lowers" the edge you face other than simply betting a smaller number of bets, with the best bet being not to bet at all. Obviously we're a gambling forum so not playing isn't "in the cards" so betting the fewest bets for the least amount of money will lose the least in the long run, but it also might not be as much fun =P. Depends on the player.

Playing it correctly means you've already won.

You don't seem to be asking if this could be +EV. Good.
But what you are asking for will not yield a quick answer because you have decision points. There are "ifs" in there. "If" the point is not 6 or 8 really complicates matters. Perhaps someone will tackle it.
