Pretty basic question. Was reading Dave's system where he waits for point, then lays $60 6/8 and $75 5/9 and a $10 DC.
He could just as easily lay those bets before the come out roll (except the DC), correct?
Once two of his backed bets tick him he takes all of his odds down.

the dice are quite unaware of what has been rolled previously, nor do they care. In order to think it is time to place a bet or remove a bet, you have to believe the dice know the past and will make an effort to roll a result or avoid a result.
Nobody has discovered tiny brains inside the dice, or even any eyes, so your doubting instincts are correct.
As far as being helpful, anything that indicates you should place a bet is bad, anything that indicates you should remove a bet is good, since the less put in action the better, all the way up to not betting at all.

Just saw this. Don't think I can repost the thread from 9/11/05, but Dave does start with a DP. On Heavy's site.
