I have always been confused when someone says they like to watch first to see if a person is a good shooter?
Since each roll is random, why is someone labeled a good shooter?

There are some people who believe that their shots are not random... that they have a skill to alter the probabilities away from the expected probabilities.
They are wrong, and I am willing to bet them that they are wrong.
There are expensive classes to teach people how to do this....

I heard that the Big 6 and 8 bets were incorporated onto the craps layout to accommodate Bigfoot. But I can't confirm this.

Will there be any "odds" given now or in the future for the "SOOPOO" challenge?
That would be pretty neat to get casino's to imbed your "bet" on the cloth and name it after you. What, a hundred or two tosses and beat the expected # 7's, seems easy enough to place the bet.
I think in a casino setting it would take odds at least as high as the ATS to attract gamblers. Casino's could run the bet on some of their empty tables with one dealer, good times.
Surely some of the dice school instructors would step up, it would be great advertising for their schools. hehe

Someone needs to invent a fundamental theorem of craps players (with a nice proof). Not for the actual game itself. About the players.
I could rough it out, thus.
The average craps player has a truly massive amount of superstition.
I could come up with a second theorem, about how the average craps player doesn't have a clue about the odds, but I don't want to do another Ph.D. dissertation. Some graduate student in an anthropology department somewhere should do that (if they haven't already).
By the way, I noticed one guy in Las Vegas who had enough cleverness to just skip the entire "name the bet after me" process and just had the casino named after him. I admire the elegance of that.

If I'm dark-siding a good shooter goes point-7.
If the force is with me a good shooter covers 3 points and all 6 numbers.
Moot point except for the sacred flow types.

Since craps is the only game in the casino where the player physically gets to determine the outcome, sure we want to believe we can affect the outcome. Therefore good shooters are better than the general population.
If we didn't have this belief then there would be nothing to separate the good from the chaff. You might as well say the best shooter of all time would be a woman who never even played the game before.

Back in the 80's I made regular visits to binions and I was using the dice set 7 for all my rolls. One time the dice passed to me and I suddenly noticed what looked like a skyscraper on the hard 6 and hard 8 the stack had to be at least 3 inches and it was all green chips. I didn't think much about it and proceeded to roll it was a long roll and I hit the hard 6 twice and the hard 8 once at the end of the roll they broke out yellow chips to pay this guy. I never knew who this guy was, but he did tip me $150 during that roll. I'm not flashy but when I started going to barona before they do that reshuffle when the dice passed to me some of the locals would blurt out this shooter can roll
