A room tacked on to the end of your stay due to missed flight or Airport situation is often harder to get than it should be. They figure that after 3 days or 4 days you've done your gambling.

Sure I could have PMed him but it's discussion that's valuable to the board. I only cross-posted into this thread because the title of the other thread is about DD blackjack, and some people don't read all threads. Since this is a comp thread, and there is a comp discussion happening over there, just trying to drive some traffic.
By no means do I have anything against Romes, and if I am wrong, post your experiences or data to refute my claims. The initial claim was that "generic comp program in Vegas" (I don't believe one was named in the context) would give you 20% of your theoretical loss as points on your card (e.g. RCs for Total Rewards or Express Comps for MLife or whatever other programs call them). In my experience and in talking to pretty much everyone else, that's just not true anymore, by an order of magnitude.
You may approach 20% when you include soft comps like room discounts, food etc. But as straight points/cash to spend on-property, it's not true anymore. I just don't want theOmega623 or anyone other Vegas newbies to get the wrong idea.

Quote: AcesAndEightsLots of "should" in there...I don't disagree with you that is how it "should" work, but it rarely does (especially with Total Rewards). I think it's pretty clear they value slot players more than table games players, for an equivalent theo loss. I don't have numbers to back that up, so maybe the apparent disconnect is just because slot players lose so much more.
If this is how you do it at your casino, then I salute you.
This is not how it worked when I got here but I have worked and continue to work to make sure it is equal. Theoretical loss is theoretical loss if you have the numbers used to figure it out correct. It shouldn't matter one bit if it's on a slot machine, keno, blackjack or video poker. $1,000 in theoretical loss in slots should earn the same comps as $1,000 in theoretical loss playing Three Card Poker.
One thing I will tell you is that most players, not just table games, think they deserve more comps (and everything else) than is realistic. And I understand that and try to explain it but it just doesn't work sometimes. It's hard to tell someone that just lost $1,000 that they just had really bad luck and it shouldn't have been that way, that's why they didn't earn anything near what they think they should have.
