I normally try to keep my strategy simple by betting the table minimum on the don't and laying 10x odds.

I'm afraid to do any DC bets after trying continuous $25 DC bets once and getting crushed by a hot shooter.

I rarely see a shooter make more than a single point, so I stop betting against him if he makes 2 in a row.

If the table is ice cold and I have a healthy profit, I'll make a 3rd bet against him and pray his luck ends.

I haven't won much at all over the years by betting on shooters and all of my biggest wins have come from betting against them!

Hey, thats great. And you have the bankroll to back up your desires. Good. Even Excellent.

Oh heck, don't let ONE bad experience burn you forever. The first time you asked a girl for a date she probably said no, but you didn't let that stop you.

Good idea.

Well, I'd have a rule and stick to it, but what the heck. Live dangerously.

So stay with it, but Right and Wrong bettors are about fifty fifty so I'd go with the feel of the table. If its cold or choppy you will make money, if its hot but you don't like being a Right Bettor,,,, go to the bar for VP and get sloshed.

any betting I might do on the basis of whether a shooter was hot or the table was cold, I freely admit is pure superstition, and in these cases my real solidly held belief is that the dice have no memory*.

I'm not saying I don't bet like that, though! All the time!

One change I have made in my darkside forays is to quit pressing the DC. I felt before like "hey, it's all good, odds on my side on the DC-travelors". But I was wrong. Too much action is too much action, rightside or darkside, is my current belief. So I allow myself two DC bets and wait for "casualties" before replacing them.

Man, makes me want to play.
I don't gamble enough!

I just wish they would at least remember how I set them <g>

I've been playing with this one lately which I really like.. low variance, break even a lot or lock up wins when running hot.

2 DCs per shooter, flat betting, no odds. Start $25 or $40.

If I win only 1 or lose both, I stay at $25 next shooter.

Win both, press 50%, so next shooter 2 $40 DCs. Progression is $60, $90, $135, $200.

During progression, if I only win 1 or lose both, I drop back to base bet of $25.

I like it because I've gotten up to the 4th or 5th level of progression a few times, win 1 of my 2 DCs then drop back to base. Since I won 1 of the 2, I broke even on that roll, but by dropping down to base I locked up all that progression profit.

Never betting against the shooter, so the table doesn't ever mind me. I like flat betting since a 2 or 3 is an instant win bet vs if I was doing this with odds, it wouldn't really be.

I found when I'm drinking heavily, it's much easier to do math and keep track of my bets with this simple system vs laying odds, and I assume I get rated better at most places that don't count odds in ratings.
