Quote: darthvaderA table of only darksiders is a blast.
The first table I walked up to in Vegas was all dark-siders. I joined them and made money, but I didn't have the good sense to walk away when the chatty guy standing straight out colored up and left - my luck went south after that and I was too damn stubborn to switch. That's life, I guess.
My favorite story? The other day at a crowded table, some obnoxious toolbag shooting from the dark side insisted on moving up next to me (I was at stick) and shoving one of the regulars, who was betting all the inside numbers, out of the way. He said, "I'm a roll a seven and then get out of here." His point was 5. He rolled a bunch of numbers - a lot of nines, several sixes - but no point and no seven, until finally he tosses the dice again. I remember it being a pretty weak roll.
It turned up a 5.
The guy left with his tail between his legs. I exchanged a "Can you believe that guy?" look with one of the regulars, an attorney who exchanged a lot of chatter with me (I'm a law student at the school where he used to be a professor, so we have a good bit in common.) It's so gratifying to see an obnoxious tool get his due.
Just the other day I visit my local casino and noticed that regular dark side shooter is placing numbers 64 across and playing the field instead of his usual 100 DP and 25 DC bets. Must have been a full moon.
Quote: CrapsGeniousGuy approaches table and starts with lay the 9 for $150, then rolls a 9. No problem, he lays another 9 for $150, tosses a black chip to the dealer and calls $25 on all the hard ways. Rolls the dice and 7 out. No problem, he still has the 9 lay there
Uhh.... what? He just won the 2nd lay 9, right?
Quote: AxiomOfChoiceUhh.... what? He just won the 2nd lay 9, right?
Yeah your right my mistake, he did win one of the lay bets but then left it. didn't matter he played any winning on the prop bets and lost it all in just a short time.
Some people have more money than brains.
Quote: vegasrvpCan I ask how many points you hit in that session?
I do remember this day but I don't think I bet anything, because I was so intrigued from watching him.
There is a better one. just last weekend, there was a guy (Wale) Dark side player from Rochester NY. I think he purposely grabs spot 8 (the spot where most of the hot shooters take up) This guy gets anything he wants from the dealers and services from the pit crew.
when I approached the table, I notice he bets 1k chip on the don't with an extra $5.00 on it because if it wins, he tips the crew $5.00 (not his original $5, just the $5 from winnings) then after each point, he puts 6k odds totaling 7k wagers per shooter.
There was 12 shooters that all PSO (Point seven out) and 1 hot shooter who makes points every time he got the dice.
(I'm starting to think I've told this story before)
so anyway, Dark side player had approx 21k in orange and purple chips, hot shooter makes 3 points and wipes out his bank roll in just under 5 minutes.
dark side shooter takes another casino mark for 10k, and waits for the hot shooter to finish rolling so he just watches and notices hot shooter is not hitting the back wall with the dice.
Well this is when the "Crap hits the fan"
Dark player informs the pit boss in a very arrogant tone, pit boss informs hot shooter that if he doesn't hit the back wall with both dice "No Roll" will be called and possible lose the dice.
long story short, dark side player got what he wanted, Hot shooter left because he got cut off from rolling the dice leaving just 12 other shooters left to roll the dice and the best spot taken up by dark side player. He had that table under control making 5-7k per shooter, round after round.
I watched his chip stack grow from 10k to 30k in just a few minutes, This was getting crazy having all the dealers and pit crew catering to this guy as he wins a good chunk of casino money.
After watching him rake in the 1k chips for more than 1 hr, round after round, I just left and went back to the hotel room around midnight.
I couldn't sleep because I haven't seen this before, a whale gambler raking in 1k chips like they are nickels. I went back to the casino around 1:30am and noticed the dark side player had left.
i asked someone that was there earlier how the guy made out. they said he went down to approx 14k in chips and then finally lost it all and left shortly after 1am
It is incredible to see dark side players at the table wagering so much money.
Quote: TerribleTomIt sounds to me like the dark side shooter just wanted to see the game played by the rules. I don't get loud or arrogant about it, but I will mention it to the stick if the dice aren't hitting the wall. After two or three instances they almost always say something to the shooter.
This is a great "tool" for dark side shooters is to tell the stick man to enforce that "standard" rule.
then do the Doey/Don't for protection on that dreaded 7/11 on comeout, and play up to max odds in behind the don't for worry free dark side gambling.

Yeah, worry free, except when the 12 shows. Or when a hot shooter is making points and you are losing those max odds and only getting paid even money on your small pass line bet.

I don't know about worry free. It only took me a couple of hours to turn $100 into $0 betting the don't last night. I think my high was around $175 or so, one bet away from doubling my money and walking away happy. Still had a great time, and that's the point for me.

You're joking right?
I was at the Mirage hotel during a college reunion in Vegas in 2007. I was only betting $15 on the don't pass and the guy next to me a high roller is betting thousands of dollars on the numbers and losing his shirt. My tray of red chips is growing while his stack of purple is disintegrating. The table is just point, 7; point, 7;, point, 7; Anyways this high roller gets completely wiped out and right before walking off the table he punches me in the stomach knocks the wind out of me. The absolutely amazing thing is he didn't even get reprimanded, instead the pit boss comes right over and apologizes and says "are you okay", he then gives me a $100 voucher for a dinner for two at the Cafe. Me and my friend ordered steak, shrimp cocktail, chocolate cake and just laughed about the incident.
Another thing happened recently. I'm at the seven stars/diamond table with my dad. I had just won a few hundred dollars and my dad said "I'm going to the bathroom". It was a $25 table and I only had the $100 I started with and the $200 I won. I know that my money can quickly disappear at a $25 table by a hot shooter so I decided to take my money off the table and wait for him to get back. My gut feeling turned out to be correct. Now the shooter is a regular, a seven stars member. He always says that I'm "bad luck" for the table. So anyways he was shooting very well, and after he made his 3rd pass, I walked up to him and said happily "See I'm not bad luck you just made your 3rd pass! Nice going shooter", he then said "get away from me!" so I backed off and went to the opposite end of the table where I had been. He then started pointing at me and complained to the box men and asked the box men to eject me from the table. A few minutes later the pit boss booted me off the table. I was pretty pissed off, because I congratulated him on making the point and he was going to be a jerk and get me kicked off the table. So right when I was leaving the table he rolls a 7 and I start laughing hysterically and I yelled out a "Woohoo!". The shooter whose about twice my size left the table and ran after me. He then pushed me into a wall, and grabbed me by my shirt collar, and started screaming at me. The police had to get him off me. To my amazement he went back and continued to play Craps for another 45 minutes before leaving. The casino management said they had to "review the evidence" before making a decision. He was banned for 2 weeks. I'm convinced if he wasn't a seven star he would have been banned a lot longer.
Quote: guitarmandpI'm at the seven stars/diamond table with my dad.
They have a specific table for Seven Stars/Diamond members? I've never heard of that before...I mean a high-min table, sure, but specifically reserved for a specific tier is a new one on me.
Craps: Srs gdm bsns.

If some dumb whale is bleeding purple chips to the casino and did that to me I'd be suing him. If it were someone playing optimal stagey at my level, I'd be cool with the $100 voucher. That's totally crazy man.
Even though it's a sucker bet, he always bets the bonus, usually for $5 for himself and $5 for the dealers. He also consistently takes about 1-2x odds and constant don't come bets with 1-2x odds. When it is his turn to roll, he starts by politely mocking the pass line bettors, but makes a point. Continues mocking pass line bettors, makes another point... Starts yelling "I hope that you all lose!" before every roll, stays hot. Then, the surprise ending... after costing himself about $700, he hits the bonus for 176:1 (or very close to it), some other players had it, dealers have it for $5, everyone goes nuts, and he suddenly becomes the most popular don't player in Las Vegas.
Good times.
Quote: moelippOne time I got the dice and bet $5 on the pass line. And older man at the other end asked who is shooting, the stickman indicated it was me, and this guy says "$500 against." I called him a name that referenced one's anal opening. The stickman hit me with the stick and asked if I had noticed the 3 huge men standing behind the rectal opening, looking suspiciously like bodyguards. I hit my point, collected my small win, and hastily beat it out the door.
You should have been barred.
Anyways during that come out roll where the shooter had just made his point and then rolled 3 consecutive 7's, this asian guy next to me that has a trey filled with $25 green chips, probably a few thousand dollars points at me and says to the guy standing on his left with a big smile "Haha, this guy is losing his ass". About 10 minutes later the table went from hot to cold and it was point 7 at least 6 shooters in a row. I look over and the Asian guy hardly has any chips left, so i turn to him and say "Wow, your loosing your ass". He says loudly "excuse me". I could tell he was pissed, he immediately gathered the chips he had left, and went to a different table that was across from mine.
It's out of character for me to make comments like that, however since this guy was laughing about me getting destroyed I thought I would return the favor.
