I wondered if there are other layouts that are fairly common ... as well as wondered which one that most players prefer.
Here is a link to some of the book reviews I've done on books about craps.

Quote: befamous7To be perfectly honest I couldn't tell you what's the most popular. I never pay enough attention as I don't play any of these bets ( ok maybe I will throw some money at the hardways, never more than $5 a session). Just curious, why are you asking about this?
I have another side bet that I am developing and it relates to the prop area. So for my patent application I want to include the most common (most preferred) prop layout showing my side bet in the layout.
Many areas of the country get really weird hop action and surveillance wants to see hop bets on the layout more and more whenever there is this constant frenzy for absurd action.
So layout companies compete by offering various layouts and by calling a layout new and better you can sell more of them prior to the table actually needing a refit.
Quote: superrickThe lay out you posted is just sucker bets, for the most part, if you are betting on the prop bets you are throwing you're money away! I would advice you to buy a few good books on the game of craps, to learn why you shouldn't be betting on those bets!

Rick would you say the Tino Gambino book is the best craps book ever?
Quote: FleaStiffHOP bets used to be the job of the BOXMAN with no particular logo or symbol on the layout, simply directly in front of him.

By the way you can read just about everything in that book on the links posted in the links I provided in the above link!
Quote: mipletYou can see lots of layouts by doing a Google image search.
A lot of good images of different prop area layouts ... thanks for the idea, but not many people answering the survey of what is preferred (if any) .

Looks like half said they do not really care. I think that is what most feel as players don't interact with the prop area and once you know your bets you know they will be booked no matter what.
