You know the deal... you're down a few bucks, trying to get a read on the table and a rhythm to your roll, but the dealers, the box, and the pit boss thinks this is their time to chat with one another.
So much goes on now that would have never been tolerated years ago. Customer gets no respect. Game is nearly impossible to begin with...how about a little professionalism from the crew?
If you're in a casino with one open table, in a town with one open casino, what do you do?

casino's money disappears
the execs worry when the wizard is near
He turns tears into joy
Everyone's happy when the wizard walks by

I try to give them the benefit of the doubt, and assume they are simply ignorant of their inconsideration towards the player.
It's amazing how people in general act out of sheer ignorance, and they will continue to be ignorant until someone teaches them otherwise.
Let them know (especially the pit) that you do not appreciate it. Let the dealers know that this is not how to make tips, and let the supervisors (including the boxperson) know that this is not how to keep you at the game, potentially losing more money.

I suppose I'm weird? I like it when people are talking at the tables, telling jokes, talking about current affairs... Nice comraderie. So what if you're down a few bucks. I like to know the dealers I am playing with and tipping. Get to know their names and get to know them. Makes that visit and future visits so much easier and relaxed.

jkluv7, I agree with you. Talking at the table is fun --- as long as it isn't the dealers in their own conversations, essentially ignoring the players. Dealers and players talking? Great.

Being just a recreational player ... I too enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of dealers and players interacting, BUT when the stickman isn't moving the dice due to conversation (even when casual conversation with players) then it becomes an issue.
Casino employee converastions without players being part of it should be VERY limited, and only done without affecting the flow of the game.
