Quote: Casino1anyone know what the effect would be if the dealer dealt all of the cards in a single deck game and when they ran out they would shuffle the used cards and continue on?
I was told by a dealer that if this happens the hand is void. As that understandably pisses off the customers, it is considered a huge error on the part of the dealer, and he is reprimanded severely.
But with a full table of 6 players and the dealer, and a single deck game, it is possible for that to happen in only 2 hands (especially if you can re-split) .
Since it annoys people to get a clean deck with each new hand, I think it is one of the reasons why casino don't like single deck games (even if BJ pays 6:5).
I feel like the cowardly lion before the great and powerful Wizard of Oz. But I am gonna ask anyway.
Paco, have you any documentation that SD 6/5 BJ tables are decreasing versus increasing ?

Casinos may shuffle and player-cut the discards and continue on the round, then reshuffle the full deck. That's what we do.

No. I know of no documentation the indicates what kind of blackjack games are being played. It is just an observation that when 6:5 began it seemed like all the games were single deck games. Now, they do 6/5 for all manner of games.
and hit soft 17 and hell only let them double on 10 or 11 . SIGH

Maybe less with the one about European
Hottie.
ONCE, the dealer actually ran out of cards on the hand. They shuffled the remaining cards, burned the top, and continued play. I believe the dealer busted, but I remember the pit boss saying something like if he drew to 21 because of that, the hand would be a push. I remember thinking it to be a VERY odd procedure, but then again, this was Catfish Bend, which was a very odd casino.
