Hi,
In playing live online blackjack, I will be presented with the option to take early payout. I saw the Wizard's basic strategy, in which, if I am not mistaken, he recommends taking early payout with a 16 versus a dealer 10. Is this always true?
Also, shouldn't I always take early payout if the dealer has an Ace?
So, what I am asking is: What are the basic strategy rules for early payout?
At first, I thought early payout was some kind of scam intended to increase the house's odds. But, if I am not mistaken, if used properly it will increase the PLAYER'S odds.
Thanks.

Well, if strategy says to do it with a dealer's ten, then with a dealer's ace, I think the answer would be "HELL YES!"Quote: StevenBlackAlso, shouldn't I always take early payout if the dealer has an Ace?
Gut feeling since most gimicks and rule changes increase the edge.Quote: MangoJHow could a player OPTION increase house edge ?

Edit: Never mind, I was talking about late surrender ... should learn to read the question before answering ...

The chart is here, and the surrender info is at the bottom of the page.

The OP should make sure first whether s/he is referring to Early Surrender (surrendering before dealer checks for BJ) or Late Surrender (surrendering is only offered after dealer checked for BJ and didn't have one) because surrendering strategy is quite different for these cases. From the OP's post he doesn't seem to know the difference between these two, and adding the phrase "Early Payout" to the mix, which could refer to both Early and Late surrender.
