I was playing blackjack today ($25-50 a hand, basic strategy) and I lost 13 hands in a row. But I decided to stay at the table and after about two hours of play time I was able to make up my losses and walk away with a small gain.
My question to everyone is, while playing blackjack, how many hands would you have to lose consecutively before you leave a the table - either to play at another table or to call it a day and go home/back to your room?

Last time I was in Vegas I was real conservative. Lose 5 hands in a row and I'd stop. Lose 8 out of 10 and I'd stop. Smelled something funny and I stopped. I didn't stop for the day, I just took a break; go for a walk, get a drink, whatever. I didn't think it'd help the cards come out better, I just did it to prevent myself from tilting and betting way out of my league. I'm impulsive sometimes =p

I'm such a math guy that I think it doesn't matter which table you're at; over time, I'll lose what the math says I'll lose.
I just look for tables where the people are fun, where everyone is rooting for everyone else, where the dealers are friendly, and the drinks are strong.

I'm on a huge downswing playing BS $25 a hand. I've lost way too much so I'm giving it a rest for now. I need to stay away from the high limit tables but I usually can't bring myself to play anything less than the best game in the house. I think I've learned my lesson after a particularly brutal session this past weekend. Just think of everything that can go wrong playing BJ and I experienced it.

4 and out. If I lose 4 in a row ill leave the table. If my won loss margin is -6 ill leave . I think that is when your betting spot is in the horrible range.Your chance of bouncing back is now less than 40 percent I believe. Your chance of getting to +5 is less than 10 percent. There are way too many tables(esp las vegas) to stay longer at any 1 table.

Been there , done that! Actually went on tilt, played all 7 spots on the table and got double lucky. Caught cards and they had a poker dealer deal to me. This was before the mirror or lights and he did that double-peek twice under at Ace and I won all the spots.
Played so long that day taht one way home I was adding up the mile makers 287.5 Damn 22 I busted LOL

I don't have a limit for losing consecutive hands but instead I will throw in the towel if I'm 20 hands down overall.
As a rule I won't draw any more cash from a machine and so far I haven't had to break that rule.
Incidently, my local casino charges a nominal but annoying charge for using their ATMs ie £1.50 per transaction which is part of the reason for not withdrawing any more cash. If it was free it might be a different story.

go to the Cash Desk and ask to withdraw from your debit card. That is free. Normally a £50 minimum though. And you can set a maximum withdrawal limit.
