Does a serious player need it ? What does it do for you ? If so which one ? There appears to be around 5 programs available
Are there other programs ?
Are there other programs ?

I don't own any of these products, but I am quite familiar with them. Norm Wattenberg is the real deal and everything else pales in comparison to Casino Verite. It will make you a better player by simulating real casino conditions. Version 5 is the one most people get and it can be had for the price of one or two of those rehashed books that seem to be everywhere today. Whether you are serious or not so serious, this will make a great addition to your blackjack library.
Some have bought Version 5 only to add other programs later. If you think that may be a possibility, look into the package deals. You won't be disappointed.

A serious player (i.e. counter) would probably want CVBlackjack and CVCX. The first is a blackjack game you play, and it checks your play (including your betting decisions based on the count). The second is a simulator you can use to calculate your long term results and tweak your betting ramps/strategy. CVData is an advanced simulator that you may also want... it allows more sophisticated simulations. All three are available in a package deal.

No, a serious player does not need any of this nonsense.
