I'm new here so be nice. I ran across an interesting rule today: after doubling down and receiving a card, the dealer asked if I would like to Double again, which of course is very nice when you get the dreaded 2 on 9, or an Ace on a soft Double against 6.
How does this alter the strategy?

I've only heard of that in western US variants of Spanish 21. There's also a double down rescue where you forfeit your original bet and keep your double down bet as a surrender if you draw to a 12-16 against a dealer 8-Ace. I'm not sure how double double down rescue goes.
"A player can also rescue the last doubled portion of the bet after a double-double down, forfeiting the original wager. "
So you bet $10, double down with $10, double double down with $20, and double double down rescue and lose your $10 original bet + $10 double down bet to the dealer and take back your last $20 double down bet with the surrender.

So you bet $10, double down with $10, double double down with $20, and double double down rescue and lose your $10 original bet + $10 double down bet to the dealer and take back your last $20 double down bet with the surrender.

All the other rules are the same, 312 cards, bj 3:2, Double any card, surrender, Double after split, stand on s17. There is no silly drawback like 'push loses'.
You get 7+2 against 6, you Double your bet (e.g. 10 becomes 10+10). You then get a card (e.g. a 2 for a total of 11). The dealer then asks if you would like to Double again. I could not believe my ears! Put another 10 down (10+10+10) and get an extra card on 11 against 6? Yes please! If you win: bank pays 3x original bet.
Same goes for A4 Double against 6: Double, get an Ace for S16, Double again for another card.
How would this influence strategy? Should I Double on 8 against 3-6 or 3-7, because if I get a 2 or 3, I can Double again? Please help

No resplit aces, haven't been in the situation of more than 3x split, so I'll have to ask. We're going back this afternoon after losing big time yesterday.

For others searching, redouble is different from triple down.
Best of luck!

I know the Longhorn (next to Sam's Town) used to allow this, but it's probably been a decade since I was last there. (And on that note-- have they changed the steak and lobster combo price?)
Too bad the rest of the rules made it pretty mediocre.
Shoot, DRich is right; I was mixing Longhorn and some other BJ variant that was floating around at the time at Bally's.

I do not recall that at Longhorn. What I do recall is they let you double on 3 or 4 cards after taking a hit.
You can't know everything, but you can know anything.
