Hello,
Getting a 10 as a first card gives about 14% advantage to the player.
What would become this advantage if the cards were clumped ? Would it be possible to kill or reduce a lot this edge just by clumping cards ?
I’m asking cause I’ve heard card counting wouldn’t work with clumping cards but I don’t know in the scenario above ?
Thank you

Can you explain to the rest of us what you mean by "clumping?" i.e. How did the cards become clumped? How do you know they're clumped? Are you tracking the slug, oops, I mean clump?
Without thinking too much about it, the players expected return rises when there are a plethora of large cards coming out. Player gets 3/2 on BJ, dealer 1-1... Player can split their big clumps of cards, dealer cannot. Player can stand on any hand, where as the dealer must hit in to the clump... So it's been pretty well established that big cards are good for the players.
Now, let's put in a touch of thought: Well, if the first card 10 is 13% advantage to the player... then your advantage is 13% - HouseEdge. Assuming a "generic" .5% HE game, this puts the players edge at ~12.5%. What has also been known for years is that each TC (in a 'generic' game) is worth about .5% to the player. So basically, how dense is the clump of big cards coming out? The density of this pack will help to define the actual player edge, but suffice to say it's obviously going to be larger than 12.5% if the clump coming out contains more big cards than small cards (ie the clump is "positive").

That is precisely what you’re looking for - high probability that the first card out the deck will be a ten/face within a clump rich in tens/faces.
I tell you it’s wonderful to be here, man. I don’t give a damn who wins or loses. It’s just wonderful to be here with you people.

This question was dismissed in another forum, but it’s still well considered here.

I had a longer post originally explaining exactly where and how this works but...why? If you don't know, or are not in a position to exploit it, why should anyone put it out there.
The average public table is not going to allow this sort of thing to happen, at least not as far as all of what I mentioned above.

Don't mind MDawg, it took them 2 posts to contribute nothing to the thread.Quote: MDawgI had a longer post originally explaining exactly where and how this works but...why? If you don't know, or are not in a position to exploit it, why should anyone put it out there.
