Something changed at that time and I am now down about $15,000 with less than 5-6 winning sessions. My question is: Is it possible to program the automatic shuffler to give the casino an additional advantage by grouping some of the high cards or low cards together, thereby giving the player a false sense of the makeup of the remaining cards?

the casino - no, legally.
one person - improbably.
a rouge group of hackers - potentially.
and from what i understand about those shufflers, the problem is not within the shuffling algorithm, but the ability to see the "compositions" of the current shuffle. The problem is not necessarily that there is a screen that shows the compostion, because sometimes its used for forensic evaluations afterwards, but when someone can view it in real time. This allows the casinos to do things like "premature shuffling" because they know the counts and statistics of the shoes. This is usually done from a wired connection to the shuffler (I THINK), but i think there are also versions where these screens can be accessed remotely.

Did your play get "checked out" by a competent reviewer?
Quote: technicsWhen I play at tables with an automatic shuffler the cards almost always come out in groups. For example most of the fours, sevens, and aces will come out during the same deal even after a couple hours of play. Is there no performance standard for shufflers? How often do state regulators check the performance of shufflers?

How is it you think these numbers would come out more than others? You think the shuffler looks for 4's, 6's and A's and distributes them more than other values? Do you think if players were getting lots of 11's that it would be bad for them?

Why are you here telling us when you can go crush the casinos with that information?Quote: technicsWhen I play at tables with an automatic shuffler the cards almost always come out in groups. Are you using kelly criteria, because these sound like pretty high value sessions?Quote: graveskenI normally play 2-3 times per week and use KO Advanced counting. I think it's highly unlikely to be gaffed shuffling.
Random means anything and everything can happen including 5 dealer blackjacks in a row or anything you may deem imbrobable because its all probable.
There is a possibility you may never win a single hand again but there is also a possibility you could win every single hand although unlikely.
Its also not random to say that the house always wins but they do in the long run. Doesnt make it any less random.
Random means one thing and thats unpredictable. It also means fair in the sense that the people at the table have a good chance at winning because it means that you can not compromise the integrity of the game by knowing the outcome before hand.
But on the 9th day of the shufflemachine gave out a straight flush.

You need to get that kind of thought out of your mind. There is a mathematical definition of random but its not anything anyone here can explain IMO. Someone prove me wrong.
The “patterns” you see should be there. All the patterns should happen. What you are seeing is normal.
patterns are not a sign of being "nonrandom" and i really would like to understand where that came from
