Hello-
I am just getting into all of this, and am having difficulty trying to determine my RoR for a trip to Vegas next week.
Playing 2 deck at TI with a house edge of .25 according to unitedstatescasinos.
I'm not overly worried if I lose my gambling budget, but prefer not to. I believe I can count fairly decent, but I'm by no means a seasoned expert. Maybe get the edge to 0???
I plan to gamble $25 a hand with a 1-6 spread and a bankroll of $4000 for the trip. 6ish hours a day for 4 days.
I'm trying to find my RoR. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Andy

Greetings Andy! As far as I can figure, playing 2D S17 with a $25 unit spreading 1-6 (Hi-Lo) with $4K bankroll would give you a risk of ruin of around 45%, this is assuming perfect play. Let me know how your trip goes, I plan to play at Treasure Island in a few weeks and would love to get some info on their games, let me know if you have any other questions..

Thank you!
I was afraid it was that high, but that's why it's just a fun trip for me. I'll have the correct strategy card for the rules along so I can reference it should I have an decisions I dont normally make. Casinos in WI dont have good rules in my experience.

How does my RoR change if I only spread 1-4?

I will let you know how it goes. I'm there 2/27 - 3/2.

Bringing it down to a 1-4 spread unfortunately wont change your ROR much, if at all. Running a higher spread increases your overall edge, for this reason using a lower spread typically does not improve your ROR. If you are dead set on using a $25 unit with that size bankroll then my advice is to practice up, use your 1-6 spread and hope for the best..maybe you will get lucky. Good luck on your trip!

How did you calculate that?
It’s all about making that GTA

Your numbers can be calculated using CVCX software, although you need more details to get accurate numbers (exact rules, deck penetration, leaving the table at negative counts, whether or not the player is using index plays, etc.)

Badandyb, are you counting or is that 1-6 spread just the limits on your bets without regards to the true count? The correct strategy cards just means you'll play to the house edge expectation of the game.
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

Hope you did better than me! Lol
I played decent and initial attempt at counting went fine I think, just ran into normal variance. Now am working on hi-lo so next time I can be more accurate and efficient.

Was my first run at counting. Went fairly well for the first time I think, just need a better count system than I used and more practice.
