Late Surrender
DAS
No re splits
Double on any two cards.
Double Down rescue

Thanks in advance.

Without Double Down Rescue, but with all the other rules, I believe the player EV = -0.3864%.

I think the only time that Double Down Rescue comes into play for basic strategy is when you double a 10 vs 8 or 9 and make a stiff hand: H12 - H16. Standing on a stiff hand vs 9 is -54.35% to -54.50% (depending upon your cards) ; standing on a stiff hand vs89 is -51.2% to -51.4%. So Double Down rescue is preferred in those situations. I'm too busy right now to figure out the Double Down Rescue impact on house edge.

I don't have CVCX, but the infinite-deck model finds that adding double down rescue to your other rules decreases the house edge by 0.00103 (0.103%.)

You would rescue any double down vs 8, 9, 10, or A that resulted in a total less than 17.

The only strategy changes with your rules: double down 10 and 11 vs ace

I’m surprised that when you double vs a dealer ace, and end up with 17, that it should not be rescued.

Since the dealer only busts with an ace 11% of the time

Edit: After the dealer has peeked at the down card, standing on a hard 17 vs an ace is about -47.1%, which is better than the -50% of the Double Down Rescue.

After the dealer has peeked and you know that the down card is not a Ten, the dealer ace will bust about 16.9% of the time.

Thank you for the help everyone.

I don't know why, but I was assuming there would be other basic strategy deviations in the case of some hands like 9v2, 9v7, A6v2, etc...

Regarding other doubling decisions such as doubling 8 or 9 or soft hands: you would only double those hands vs dealer upcards 2-7, and versus those upcards you would NOT Double Down Rescue, since it is more favorable to stand. Thus, you should simply refer to basic strategy for making those Double/Hit decisions.
