I guess it could be a pitch game, but not with the stacks of chips how they are in front of hand.
Im certain the author of the article handed in the text and a separate staff editor grabbed a stock shot of cards and chips without knowledge of what game it belonged to

This dealer should get a job in Maryland where everything he did is legal

Agreed!!!
What? No comment that the chips are standard home game style?Quote: unJonPicture on top of article is of Texas Hold’Em not Blackjack.* Rest of article cant be taken seriously. :-)

It is unlikely that chips would be stacked in that manner in front of the cards in ANY game.
But if it were a more reasonable stack, sitting in front of the cards before peeking at them, is more likely in a pitch BJ game than hold-em. Except perhaps the players in the blinds.
But screw that wimpy rinky-dinky alleged larceny stuff, along with their neighborhood barking dogs & village potholes. What about the indisputable 'dirty' stacks of those cheapo unmarked K-Mart home game plastic chips in the Post's apparent poker player file pic? A wannabe poker player who keeps black tucked under a blue needs to be dragged out back and shot. And I want the dealer who wasn't all over that before dealing him in to get counselled with a ball-peen hammer.Quote: DJTeddyBearWhat? Quote: FCBLComishFrom the inside, the best thing you can do to preserve your welcome at a casino is not to be too greedy. I have caught many players who take every correct deviation, even the ones on very negative counts. The EV cost of not taking those is minimal. Assume someone is always watching, even if you don't feel any heat. Many times I will be watching on video from the comfort of my office.
If you catch a good shoe and are making your larger bets, leave at the end of the shoe. If you are betting 2 hands of $500 and then after the shuffle go back to one hand at $25, that could be tipping off your action. Book your win and don't burn yourself at that property. Come back another day and start over.
Use a players card. Contrary to popular belief, we spend more time watching uncarded players.
I could write a book on this. If you are interested in any more specific advice, ask here or PM me. I would be happy to help you out if you agree not to play at my property.
He's talking about AP players but, for cheaters, the flags remain the same. Had they been less greedy and used cards they might have gotten away with it ... for a while. There's always this classic scene to consider...
While I can understand the temptation to cheat the house, I could never understand the logic behind actually doing it. I've been to several military bases with laxer security than a your average casino. On the other hand, these guys did get away with it several times before the casino got wise so (surprise!) don't believe everything Hollywood tells you.
