I can't post links. Please take a look at this image: wizardofodds dot com slash online minus gambling slash playtech slash images slash blackjack slash blackjack minus surrender minus strategy dot png.
I have two questions:
1. Why does it recommend hitting an 8,8 against an A? Shouldn't I always split an 8,8?
2. Why does it recommend standing a soft 18 against an A. Shouldn't I hit?
Also, someone recommends hitting an A,A against an A instead of splitting. Someone tested it, and the result of hitting was better. What should I do? As for the Double Deck Basic Strategy Exceptions, do they apply to four or more decks?

Is it a ENHC game? Because that would explain why you want to hit 88 v A and AA v A.

I don't know what an ENHC game is. Could you please explain it?

European No Hole Card.
Basically, the dealer doesn't take a second card until all player hands are done... And if the dealer gets a BJ, all your splits and doubles are screwed.

No. The dealer always peeks for a blackjack.

Doesn’t make sense. Here’s the link to rules. Scroll down to Blackjack Surrender. I recommend you PM the Wizard as I don’t think hittting 8s is the right move here. https://wizardofodds.com/online-gambling/playtech/Quote: BlackjackLoverNo. The dealer always peeks for a blackjack.

ignore the menu bar interruptus, please. I hate to have a discussion about something I can't see.
Not that I have much else to contribute. I'm pretty sure the Wizard plugs in the rules, calculates the ev on each box, and the chart is generated.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. In looking at it, I don't remember why I said to hit two eights against a 10 or ace. I made that image years ago. I vaguely recall they used to follow the European no hole card rule and I probably didn't update an older Playtech strategy completely.
Whatever the case, either the rules or the strategy are in error, and that is my bad. No excuses. I think the rules are right and I just updated the strategy to say always split eights. Again, thanks for the correction.

It's my pleasure. Thank you for updating the strategy. What about standing a soft 18 against an A? Isn't that an exception?

Basic strategy is to hit soft 18 v A.
