I worked the midnight shift on NYE for the 2001 year, post-9/11. There were idiots shooting guns in the air everywhere that night, including under the approach paths to the runways. There were so many concerned citizen calls to the police thinking people were trying to shoot airplanes out of the sky, they called a major operation.

So I rang in the New Year in the tower watching fireworks and muzzle flash with the FBI, ATF, and local LE for company, all on our own frequencies coordinating movement of arrest teams and diverting airplanes from suspect flight paths. Was kind of fun. Had forgotten about it until this thread.

Idiots are trying to kill us.
Take it to a range, and bring in the new year in a quiet state of sober state of mediation and reflection, - or at a casino, if not.
Save your ammo.

If I believed someone could actually shoot a bullet straight up and land where they stood, I'd call it Darwinism, but they'll hit someone else and not themselves. In that case, they're actually strengthening their odds of procreating and passing on their code.

Good call BBB on 3 days.

I remember one summer when I was a kid we constructed our own bows and arrows: they worked pretty well.

The game was to shoot our arrows straight up, then lie down, not move, and see how close the arrows came to hitting us.

So you didn't "c" any misspelled f-bombs in his first couple of rants? How selective of you! Lol.

Ok, I'll amend it to 3 days. He'll be bak. Next year.

Don't you start becoming soft in the new year. You'll give 1BB/ Freddy something to make his life seem meaningful.

I was Martingaling him to 7 for multiple f bombs in 2 different posts, after having been warned earlier this year. I decided it could be treated as a single offense and made it 3, after reading the thread comments.

My second favorite Thread of the Year, after my own "You Might Not Be an AP If...". Come to think of it, they are somewhat related.

Here's to an amusing 2017.

I still smell something fishy with this ZenKing anyway.

Yeah, I think I was a bit too accepting of it all. Upon reflection it appears to have been an utter troll all along.

I remember when SouthPoint backed off three friends who were each playing different counting techniques with RED chips. And this was the morning shift, which would usually be the least alert. If you come across as a greedy counter, you get 86'd. And there is nothing you (or Nesarian) can do about it.

In my experience, day shift at any property seems to be the sweatiest. Swing shift -- lots of stuff going on, so harder to keep track of everything. Graveyard -- they don't give a sh*t....more than likely chose (begged to be on) graveyard so they wouldn't have to do much work.

Part of the fun for me is to do the opposite of camouflaging myself, and count.
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

Why not go all the way: put a large abacus on the table in full view of everyone and use it to track the count. See if you get arrested for violating the "device" statute...

I build intricate forts with my chips, strategically shifting them around to correct their weaknesses. It must drive the eye in the sky batty. They see me do it, but it has no correlation to the count, or my bets.

Casinos just simply cant keep getting away with backing people off and trespassing them simply because someone is counting cards.

The only way this will happen is if laws are changed.
