I found this blackjack game at pocketwin which seems to offer the following rules:

unknown number of decks (am waiting from support on this one but given the amount of 10's that I see it can't be 6-8)
double down on any 2 cards
1 split allowed
no double after split
UK game
If you have BJ and dealer shows a 10 you win (dealer won''t take another card for some reason)
If you have BJ and dealer shows an ace you win (dealer won''t take another card for some reason)
Stands on Soft 17.
BJ pays 3 to 2.
Can take additional cards on split aces.

This gotta be a positive game for the player surely? Anyone can calculate the house edge?

Assuming ENHC and player blackjack always wins:

Two-deck house edge = 0.1655%
Six-deck house edge = 0.3651%
Eight deck house edge = 0.3899%

The player gets an extra 1.5 units every time there is a player/dealer BJ tie. This tie happens (in an 8 deck game) 1-in-457.6 hands (with probability .002185). Therefore, the rule that the player always wins BJ ties adds 0.002185*1.5 = 0.003278 = 0.3278% to the player-side of the house edge. In exchange for adding 0.3278% to the player-side, the house takes away DAS and resplits.

European no-hole card, the way the game is played in the UK where the dealer does not get his second card until all action is complete by the player.

If this game is in the US (so the dealer takes a second card as his down-card and checks for blackjack) then the edges are:

Two decks =0.0601%.
Six decks = 0.2569%.
Eight decks = 0.2804%.

Thanks for that

I was naively thinking the game could be positive which it is only if 1 deck is used.

Teliot,

while we are at it, is it better if a BJ game offers no double after split, stand on soft 17 and only double on 9-11 than a game with otherwise same rules but hitting on soft 17, double after split and double on any 2 hands?

Your help is appreciated!
