The Ace/Five Count
I'm considering testing the above strategy next week when I travel to Mohegan Sun for a conference. The criteria is met for all things except for late surrender. I'm mainly going to be using it on $50 tables with no mid-shoe entry and 6-deck sets.
Has anyone else used this strategy successfully and what are your thoughts on it? Also, is it absolutely necessary to have late surrender as a conditional if all other criteria is met?
As always, thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Take care.

I hate to agree with Dwight... but hi-lo is almost as easy and so much better.Quote: dwight56My limited experience with the ace five was not good to say the least. Worthless
But both of those pale into insignificance compared to Dwight's system.

Chill dude. I was really agreeing with your criticism of ace-5 count.Quote: dwight56Have you never lost Oncedear? I lose often. I also enjoy messing about with progressive systems at which I've had good luck and bad luck. It's either about fun or profit. Both are equally valid objectives in my world.
Yes. Look. I do lose often (There's an 8k downtick that I haven't plotted yet)
My recent response to your system thread was tongue in cheek. I've said many times that such systems can be fun, so 'whatever floats your boat'

Whether playing a progression or counting we are all fighting the same beast, none of us will play billions of hands, and no doubt luck plays a part, but not as much as wise play and good money management. Good luck to you Oncedear and no hard feelings here.

The A/5 count is a weak count that "technically" is able to get a small advantage but still falls prey to a lot of the other parts of the game most people don't consider when selecting an "easier" count. You still must spread properly. You still must have bankroll management and understand RoR, etc, etc. Given you still have to understand/know/do all of the other pieces anyways, I really don't understand why one wouldn't just learn Hi/Low and get WAY MORE bang for your buck. Learning Hi/Low is only a very little difference in difficulty... Like, really little, in my opinion. Can you add +1 and -1? Then you can learn Hi/Low pretty easily...Quote: JoelDezeThe Ace/Five Count

Playing it correctly means you've already won.
