Long streaks, good or bad

I posted about this once before, quite awhile ago, but now I can't find it to update.
(Means I was too lazy to look for more than a couple minutes).

So I started a new thread.
A place to post if you witness 18 yo's in a row....
Or anything else unusual.

I had before posted some winning and losing streaks in BJ, just numbers of hands in a row. Not $$.
For some strange reason I count those, I don't count cards, but counting is good mental exercise ;-)

Ignoring pushes entirely ( chip stack doesn't change ) the old records were:
Either 13 or 14 wins in a row,
20 losses in a row, (which replaced a year old record of 15 by 5 hands)
25 out of 26 wins in a row ( 13 wins, 1 loss, then 12 wins )

The new record, as of today, is 15 wins in a row, not a big change but it took another 100,000 hands at least...

Just my little practice game, down in Mom's basement of course ;-)

I must have some pretty poor luck with streaks. Pretty much every session I play I'll lose 10 in a row or more at some point. I very rarely ever win more than a few in a row. So while I can give you my streaks (I think it was like 9-10 wins and my biggest loss was around 20 losses) I think they don't show the distribution correctly. The majority of the time I'm sitting on a losing streak. Should explain why last year I put in about 500-600 hours and was even on the year. Thanks, variance.

This year however... Full time hours, full time profits =D.

p.s. At first glance I thought the thread title was "Long Steaks" and I was like, well doesn't that mean you typically get more steak??? lol

Yep, 9s and 10s pretty common.
Beyond that they really start stretching out it seems.
Though a 12 loss in row came in the same shoe, very odd shoe....

People need to specify the table game, if its not Blackjack.

In Four Card poker, the player is only expected to win about 25% of the hands. Not sure what the expected win rate is in Mississippi Stud but its quite low as well.

Ugh.... I don't know how to point this out politely so I'll just be blunt. Are you aware that your Avatar's eyes seem to have a radioactive glow? Is that a leftover side effect of Oak Ridge ;-?

Okay, Twofeathers, I changed that creepy avatar I was using. I only put about 30 seconds into choosing this new one, so I may change again.

And if you want a thread with a lot of posts:
1. just do something to incite the wrath of PaigowDan or MathExtremist, - like criticizing casinos
2. claim you have proof that either you or the casinos can influence the outcome of dice throws in craps
3. somehow work a mention of a Vegas topless club into your thread

I will go with #3, though I have as yet to visit a topless club 'in Vegas'.

Anytime #1 or #2 options get started, again, well then I worry about nuclear meltdowns.
I don't like those, usually. There have been exceptions ;-)

Talking 'bout streaks, have you been watching Steeldco's 130 Dogs. Jeesh.

That's getting close to 3 standard deviations away from ev. That's really unlucky and frustrating because everyone starts to question their game and the math. Doubtful you'll have a year that bad for the rest of your career. It's amazing how mediocre 6 deck blackjack games take 70000 to 80000 hands to start getting to the long run.

Of course, I started betting big after 50,000 hands ;-)
