Hi,

I was wondering what some people do to camouflage their play on a side bet. For some reason having $5 on a blackjack hand and $25 on a side bet seems like a tell tale sign that something is really wrong. I'm pretty sure I was getting some weird looks from the pit boss and dealers. Any advice or input would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Make your side bet amount and your blackjack hand amount equal. After all, if you're referring to a countable side bet like Lucky Ladies, when you're maxing the side bet you should be max betting your BJ hand anyways.

Even if it's another type of side bet and you have to flat bet at BJ... $25 * (-.005) = 13 cents per hand played at this level. Relatively chump EV compared to what you should be making on the side bet per bet.
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

Thanks for the input.

In hindsight this makes the most sense, no idea why I never considered this.

Often times we get blinded by our main objectives (the side bet) and overlook the little things. That's what the forums are for =P.

Welcome to the forums, BTW!
